Well done Des, what a good result nearly over the magic 250 and well up with the Cupra Rs. That's about what I would have expected to see with your mod state on a cold, damp day. Bet those Seat dudes were amazed and had to take their caps off to you!

Skoda rules.

Chris

2. Joe - Seat Leon Cupra R - 273.3 BHP

So what does this man have over a remap?

So what does this man have over a remap?

Nothing.. depends where the remap is done!

i know someone who has 285bhp with a Jabba and a Dynatwist.

generally the Seat boys seem to favour REVO over Jabba.. such a shame ;)

altho REVO has just released a new LCR code to give over 300lb/ft

Hold on, 60bhp from just a remap? On a 225bhp engine? I find that a bit hard to believe...

Whats so hard to belive? TDi engines can do it.. The LCR has a K04 turbo.. bigger than the ones on the 150/180 engines.

Joe has Revo SPS3, and is the 210bhp engine :drive1:

 Am seriously impressed.

Q,

What you have to remember is that most of these cars are running maps for the R/R and can't hold on to the torque spike apart from Bill's Ibiza which bottomed out the rollers.

I could probably out run the higher output cars (bar Bill's) cos I can flat line my torque to 5K + long after their's have died. This goes back to the "figures don't really mean a lot" debates we've been having.

So in answer to your question, nothing! Apart from a set of figures and a KO4, IMHO.

Des

Thanks Des, so what you're saying is that although it sounds mightally impressive, these figures don't mean didly squat on the road?

Confused from down south.

Very good Des. Nice to see your results are up there with the best of them! Bills car is amazing!

Steve: Good to see that your results were alost the same as at the last one last week! Shows that the rollers were spot on!

Thanks Des' date=' so what you're saying is that although it sounds mightally impressive, these figures don't mean didly squat on the road?

Don't get me wrong these cars are still very quick.

Des

Des,

Your car has exactly the same output as my old MY01 Impreza. That had a lot of transmision loss due the AWD system. I would say that using my butt dyno that your car felt a bit quicker than my old Impreza. Nice figures!

What torque were you seeing. Can you post a copy of your graph?

Hi Steve,

I can't at prestent, sorry!

I can say the graph peaked at 2600 (263.9 lb/ft) and flat lined to 5000ish dropping 210 lb/ft @ 6300rpm.

Hope that helps.

PS Thanks for the comments.

Des

Nice to know what my car will produce as well :D

As has been said before, its the area below the curves that counts. Look at the plots from Des and me (the more extreme end of the Jabba spectrum, although most have a shorter version of the map) and you will notice that peak torque is held from about 3k to 5,800. Look at the Revo maps (I stand to be corrected) but they are more about getting peak figures which can't be sustained. The Jabba maps (that I've seen posted on here) seem more about driveability than figures, so on the road I'd say that the Jabba one would be quicker as its not as "peaky".

Would I be correct in assuming that Joe adjusted the engine settings via SPS3 to push it way beyond what would be safe or wise for regular use? And nice figures, Des. I knew they would eventually 'leak' out.... :D

Nice to meet you yesterday Des, shame I didn't get to go out with you!

As for the comment "i bet the Seat boys had to take their hat off to you" I would have though that a more appropriate one would have been "I bet that VW and Audi guys had to take their hat off to you" :flame:

Just shows you that Seat and Skoda are coming out of the "shadow"

Apparantly, those settings were just for the RR and not out on the road :)

Si,

Really sorry m8, forgot about our promised blast. Maybe next time i'm on track you could come along as a guest/2nd driver and really see what the RS is all about, apart from cutting grass that is.

Just must add that if not for the ridiculous waiting times on the Cupra R I would have bought one.

Des

No worries Des, I know that you had a bit of a journey back home and it wasnt the best day to really "play"

I was highly impressed with the car tho mate, looks nice and a MASSIVE BOOT!

Si,

Thanks once again for a great day out, perhaps you guys could come along to one of our meets i'm sure you'll be most welcome as you are kind enough to invite us to yours.

Denis,

You know i don't like quoting figures they just have little meaning to me. If I wanted a higher curve I would have used Mikes nutter map that myself and Jon used to run, thanks for the thumbs up though.

Absolutly mate, would love the site to come along to a Briskoda Meet if invited
