Hi guys, just got a set of Bilstein b8 and matched lowered HR s (50mm) from Damian. Will put them on car next week probably; can’t wait to see how it looks and drives.

Anyone have this set up on their Vrs? 

Do I need to adjust tracking after? In Bilstein brochure  says camber and toe need to be set back to manufacturer specifications ..... which are manufacturer specifications??

Will be best to get 4 wheel Hunter Pro-Align wheel alignment  price is from £50 - £70 all in.

Some places won’t charge you if nothing needs adjusting, maybe ask if they do a free check or if nothing needs adjusting is there a small charge involved.

How was the Bilstein B8 paired with the H&R springs?

Hi pal, they are perfect match, just put them on yesterday. 

Will take some pics, anyway I expect settling a bit. Car was about 55mm (3 fingers) from tyre to fenders all around now about 35-40mm back and 30mm front. Front it’s Lower than back so looks good. I expect another 10mm all around and will be perfect. I’m happy

So here is my review after 2 days of driving with b8 s and h&r -50mm:

 

1. Ride is a bit harder than the stock, but nothing you can not live with. It feels harsh only over short ridges and bumps, except that it’s just fine.

2. Car feels steady and more secure In everyday driving, but the magic starts in turns: it just holds its way and grips without any leaning which is so cool. I ve got new Dunlop sport max tyres so these help also. 

3. Looks have been improved dramatically: I ve started from 55mm in between tyres and fender - measured with 2 rulers, one on top of tyre the other perpendicular on it touching car - . By the book car should have get lowered by 35mm (50- 15, cos it’s vrs already lowered from factory). In reality it went down about 25mm on front ( now gap it’s 25-30mm, driver side it’s a bit lower than passenger don’t know why, but it was the same before so it’s not springs fault) and 15-20mm on rear ( now gap is 35-40mm).

 

I have read than it might settle down with about 1/4- 1/2 inches so 8-10mm probably which will actually look perfect and end up with a total of 30-35mm at front and 25-30mm rear which is close to what b8 and h£r specifications say.

Im happy that front it’s lower than rear so it has the nose down stance.

Got only one pic with car before, but you can measure your tyre- fender gap so you get an idea, 55mm it’s about 3 fingers.

 

Altogether very happy with money invested (about £850 with labour)  , well worth it instead getting some cheap no name dampers and springs and regret it after if any problems.

It will drop a bit more think mine took about 2 weeks.

That’s good to hear mate, have you got same set up?

No not exactly. I've got B8's and Eibach prokit on a MK3 but mine took about 2 weeks to fully drop. The fact your measurements show you don't have the full drop yet also leads to the same conclusion.

Hi guys new to the site today! I have just removed a set of the 45-55mm H&R lowering springs from my 60 plate VRS & put a bilstein B14 coilover kit on,very impressed with the coilovers great handling & ride is pretty much the same as the springs was 

This was on the H&R springs once it settled
