Hi all.

 

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement housing for the two button Fabia Mk1 remote central locking key? Its the round model.

 

I can find loads online for different shaped keys, but specifically i am looking for the round two button one.

 

Even some kind of cover would be fine. My key looks rubbish.

Mine's gone the same. That's the bit with the immobiliser chip in it so a new one would need to be coded to the car.

Yeah, but you can remove the whole circuit board and put it in the new key fob and just keep the existing metal key part.

More than likely, but my whole key is knackered. The plastic has started to crack and the buttons are wearing through. Previous owners have obviously not taken great care of the keys (or the car).

Oh right.

I've ordered a couple of those badges for my key because it's only the badge that's knackered on mine. Worth a punt at that price. Didn't even know you could get them.

Ah cool. Yes I'll let you know what the badges are like.

Got the badges. They are a great fit and look good but time will tell how long they last. I decided to remove the original adhesive tape stuff from the back and glued mine on with Gorilla Glue after roughening the key and rear badge surface. The tape stuff didn't inspire confidence that it was strong enough tbh. There is a clear protective film you have to remove from the front of the badges too - although I guess you could leave it on if you wanted to. I notice the badges are slightly different and don't have the Skoda wreath thing at the bottom but that's a minor thing.

Looks good. I've ordered them along with the Silicone cover from Germany.

I ordered a cover too :thumbup:

My cover came from China. Really impressed for 99p and free postage. It fits so nicely. The markings on them are bizarre and bear no relation to the buttons but I can forgive that.

Yeah, I got mine from Germany last week. I agree about the markings, but its not the end of the world.
