clutch concentric slave cylinder leaking?

Featured Replies

Hi

Anyone any suggestions?

Fabia 1 vrs 07

Symptoms

Oil patch on drive.

Oil on undertray

Clutch pedal stuck down this morning . used foot to pull up. All fine after but noticed slight stiffness earlier through gears.

Brake fluid looks lower than when I last checked. No warning light.

I have removed undertray. No leaks on master cylinder or clutch slave cylinder near air box. Also no leaks on cylinder if present near clutch pedal.

There is leak, slow drip coming from between engine oil sump and bell housing metal seal. Paint has been dissolved and lifted off and fluid is amber. Looks like brake fluid.

No leaks on any sump plugs.

Yes, slave bad.

No idea, you're in the UK so £££, ask for quotes from local garages.

You can get a clutch and flywheel kit with slave for £350 from Darkside and they charge £250 + VAT for fitting on a 6 speed and £200 + VAT for a 5 speed.

Superb, Darkside are just up the road. I was looking at those parts on their website.

I am on verge of scraping. I was about to do front suspension due to top mount bearings gone when I am off work. Also the plumbers gold for water getting past rear window door card. I have access to hoist and garage. This looks a big job though.
