Exhaust project #3 & plain diffuser needed

Featured Replies

After having already spent a fortune trying to get my 220 to actually look as beefy as it is, I plan to get a full exhaust system fitted (catback).

The guys who are making it have said that it will meet my requirements (I don't want it loud I just want it to look good) despite them planning to use straight through parts.

They say they will fit a resonator where the standard one currently sits, and 2 straight through back boxes one on each side. All stainless, welded together nicely with one chrome round tip showing at each side of the rear.

Firstly, am I going to regret this? They have quoted £600 and I won't be happy if it's really loud - I've already been there and it really doesn't suit the car or my preferences. I just want it to be maybe the same as a Golf GTI or the 280 4x4.

Secondly, as I've fitted the sportline rear diffuser I need to get my hands on the standard plain 220 one so that the exhaust can fit nicely. Anyone got one they are willing to sell? You're welcome to my sportline one but the chrome has bubbled due to the exhaust heat from one of my many attempts at a better sounding 220....

Cheers

check out  @superbtte build thread - he has some pics of round exhaust tips coming out of his rear end.

i would've offered u my standard 220 rear diffusor, as i too changed mine to the Sportline diffusor - however shipping it ur way is going to cost $$$$

Now now @JR RS, would you mind your language. Content should be apropriate for our younger readers too you know:rofl:

I also have an original Superb Diffusor in the garage but although I ain't on the other side of the world, transportation costs would still be significant.
