Carwow and other brokers

Featured Replies

Anyone found that online brokers like CarWow work ok and are dealers able to match the price or is there no way a dealer would do that?

I've  popped a few suggestions into carwow and the best I've had was just over 22% off, surprised tbh

CarWow saved me THOUSANDS

after lots of discussions ..dealer said they could go no lower on price.

I went to CarWow and they got identical car ... loads of cheaper quotes, and best part was a quote saving me thousands from the original dealer.

It felt good asking them one more time could they do better .. and when they said ‘no’ I showed them their quote which was several thousand better.

In the end they threw in extras if they could supply direct instead ......

I went to the dealer armed with a quote from CarWow when I purchased my Octavia, dealer could not quite match the CW price but they got close enough to save me a trip to Southhampton - but the salesman wasn't very happy about it - too bad. The CW (or similar site) quote puts you in a much stronger buying position, it's your hard-earned money at the end of the day.

I had 4 dealers quote via CarWow and my local dealer was one of them.

the sales guy didn’t know, and was knocked back when I showed that their own CarWow quote was several thousands cheaper.

They had to honour it .... and decided to throw in sweeteners to get deal direct.

Carwow got me 12% off list.

I've got a Superb Sportline estate on order through Carwow and got £3100 off. Local dealer  ( Carr's at Indian Queens) offered my no discount at all.

You have nothing to lose.

Same here as most of the above. Carwow quote was thousands less and bought through my local dealer. Would definitely recommend them.

Always worth a look to give you a target price, nothing to lose and can save thousands

I dont understand why people dont use carwow. If your in a position to do so it will save you thousands. They give an indication of how much on their youtube channel.

Remember there is also the commission that the dealer pays to carwow. Which is why the 'go direct' sweetener should be in the region of 300, although it is a breech of someones terms I'm sure.

But if we keep knocking sales prices, don't then be alarmed as dealer servicing rates rocket!  All that corporate franchise payments, white paint and green ties has to be paid for somehow and it's not in the profit of car sale anymore.

Competition is good!

I'm finding that on a factory order dealers not honouring the Carwow offer prices and use tricky complicated figures to get what they really want by trying to blind me with mathematical conundrums.

Here's  one reply from a dealer when I queried the figures.

"The car wow price includes the £1750 deposit contribution where as when we do the finance quote this is shown in the overall deposit.

The car price £15399

Adding on the deposit contribution (as this comes off in the deposit) £1750

Plus your options £1395

Price of the car before the deposit contribution £18544

The add charges is the interest from the finance company"

Used Carfile.net 3 times now and saved a packet every time. The Fabia we bought in May was just about £17500 retail with extras, after discount, PCP contribution (paid off within the week) and test drive bonus we paid about £12100. that's over 30% off in total. No sitting negotiating for hours (or even weeks. Just an e-mail and a phone call to get the best price.

So these are the online brokers I found and my head is hurting from the different options etc

Carwow

CArfile

Broker4Cars

Broadspeed

Drivethedeal

AutoEbid

Coast2Coast

Anyone definitely not recommended? Which ones are best to get the best deals or Skoda?

I would like to know too!

Why not just stick your spec into the first four and see what you get? You can always spam-filter any site if they get too pushy.

With Carfile and Carwow you only pay the dealer, they get their money from the dealer direct. This is as safe as buying form a dealer direct but cheaper.

Some brokers require you pay them a deposit, some require you pay them all the money for them to pass on. This puts your money at considerable risk. If the broker does not pass on the money (for one of several reasons) the car is not yours and the dealer will reposes it. You then stand to loose all the money.

There is more to getting a good deal than price and the cheapest may have too many risks built in. I have bought 3 cars from Carfile now and its safe and simple.

Since 2013 Carfile have saved us over £8000. On top of that there have been the usual PCP discounts etc (another £4500) that some brokers do not allow you to access.

I've just had an offer of £2100 off the cost of a new Fabia with all the extras I want by using Carwow and that's before the Skoda contribution of £1750.

Another dealer who was annoyed with it told me to snap their hand off.

I have been haggling very hard .

What was the List Price before the discount and when can you get the car handed over?

List price was £19965 including extras. I've been told it's up to 24 weeks for delivery.

PCP 3.9%

Well  I would never pay that without the discounts.

Used car wow for my last two Octavia Vrs got over £3000 off. Have recently moved to Hyundai and bought a I30 N again through Car Wow saving nearly £2500. Would not buy another Skoda due to delivery delays and Hyundai has a five year warranty and the I 30 N is a much more serious car than the Vrs it beats it in every way possible for about the same price.
