Carwow and other brokers

Featured Replies

I had a KIA.   Made in same factory as Hyundai .... the problem was I need to tow, and the Sorento has a Dual Mass Flywheel ... which means clutch slip if under load on a slope.

For me recovering a boat on an angled slipway ... Sorento was not fit for purpose.

auto wasn’t an option as they de-rate Tow capacity to only 2 Tonne with Auto box.

I now have a Kodiaq and with 190 engine & DSG auto box it works a treat towing.

I've got a Superb Sportline estate on order through Carwow and got £3100 off. Local dealer  ( Carr's at Indian Queens) offered my no discount at all.

You have nothing to lose.

Very typical of most dealers on all makes within Cornwall ... I've never bought anything down here for past 20 odd years as they seem to have a captive older generation customer base who are happy to pay list or very near list on everything ... my better spec'd  5month old (at the time) 9/17 Superb Sportline  bought at Vindis Cambridge was over £3500 cheaper than one at Carrs Indian Queens.

Just orders a new Superb SEL Exec and first time I’ve bought new car for many years.  Used CarWow and was gobsmacked to get 25% off list price.  Note that this includes a £3k contribution for PCP.  Apparently if you take credit you can pay it off after a month - so if you can afford to buy in cash (I can’t unfortunately) then buying with PCP and getting the contribution, then paying off quickly is a great tip!

have read somewhere that combination of Brexit and VW Group being behind on the new fuel consumption stuff (WLMA?) means that they’ve needed to stimulate otders and offer bigger discounts.

i was originally looking to buy 3yr old car ... but the current new discount is enough to mean I’ll likely be no worse off in depreciation buying new - and maybe even better (taking into account warranty / yr1 road tax / no MOT etc) - plus got to choose exactly the spec I wanted which feels great!

would def recommend CarWow or similar as hate trying to negotiate with car dealers and not know what a good price is!

I used carwow and got 3k of a Fabia, dealer didn't seem bothered I'd used them either.

I used CARWOW  back in late 2017 to fix the price on an OctaviaSEL 1.5 DSG with options ACC /Winterpack /Spare wheel / Metalic paint , extra 4 th year warranty , lowest cost agreed with Dealer in kent saved £2.5ks  , then as they had the Diesel Scrapage going on orders before end of 2017 , got an added £3.5 k on top . Ended up paying  18k , in total , so it worked for me for

Similar story here. I have just used Carwow to negotiate a shade over 25% off list for a new Octavia SE (albeit including the already generous £3k deposit contribution). My local dealer isn't on Carwow, but has something in their marketing material about matching genuine offers from other dealers. I popped in there to have a look at a car and they prepared the standard quote for me. The next day, I emailed the sales exec with details of the best quote I received via Carwow and left it at that. After a couple of days, the dealer phoned me and said they would match the offer.

They made it perfectly clear that they would match the price I was quoted if I placed an order on the same day, which suited me fine as I wouldn't have asked if I wasn't prepared to place the order. I somehow doubt I'll be getting champagne and flowers when I collect the car, but I'd rather get a good deal any day of the week.

I had a similar result negotiating the purchase price of my wife's Panda, except the local Fiat dealership is on Carwow, so I also got a £20 Amazon voucher once the car was collected. Carwow (or other similar services) take a lot of the hassle and mystery out of negotiating a car purchase. The dealer knows they will get a sale if they match the price and the punter knows they are getting a fair deal. What's not to like?

Just a vote for Drivethedeal from a newbie. I am getting my new Superb 1.5 TSi SE next week and the process couldn't have been easier so far. I also bought my previous car via them and for me it reduces the stress and gives confidence that you are getting the best deal. Including the 500 pound test drive voucher I'm getting ~28% off (including the 3000 deposit contribution from Skoda). Of course that means you have to take out the PCP financing but all that paperwork and associated payment is done direct with the dealer exactly as if you'd just walked into the showroom. Looking forward to my first Skoda

I’ve used Carwow for my last 3 cars. Once I got the quote I approached local dealers who have matched the deal. Secured 17% off my Kodiaq which is on order

When I was searching I found AutoEbid, Broadspeed, Coast2Coast and Carfile offered the best deals.  Ended up using AutoEbid and got about 21% off the list price

I used Carwow as part of research into my newly ordered Superb L&K 150 DSG. I was blown away by the amount of discount on offer from several dealers, and armed with the research was able to negotiate a very attractive deal with my preferred dealer. The discount I achieved was better than I would have targeted without this background info.

I can’t say whether the dealer did or did not match the Carwow price, as the car I ordered was already built and had some options on that weren’t in my Carwow offer. But suffice to say it was near enough for me to agree the deal and walk away feeling I’d got a good deal and the dealer still got something out of it too.
