Boost Controller

Featured Replies

Does anyone have a boost controller fitted?

If so is it worth purchasing?

Also for those of you that have had remapp's, is the decrease in fuel consumption noticeable?

Im planning on getting a remap that can be switched from 180bhp to 225bhp, when switched back to stock mode what mpg are u getting?

From what I have read other members report - and from my own experience - a Jabba remap should not affect fuel consumption noticeably unless you make a lot of use of the extra performance. As they say up Norf, "You never get owt for nowt".

As standard I got about 35-38. With the remap and a dodgy exhaust I got/get about 33/36 depending on how I drive.

Get switchanble if you are:

Worried about you dealer finding out what you've done

Have a partner who can't drive

Otherwise, why bother?

I think Ill get one of these with my remap for 'stealth' mode ;)

When i went in to skoda today for my sill covers, i asked about their viewpoint on chipping, they said they would not it being chipped, and would still cover any engine parts.

I want it switchable as i dont want full ummmmpppphhh all the time. Anyone know how much extra it costs for switchable?

For APR, REVO, Jabba or what?

IIRC, the boost controller from Jabba is

1/2 a house brick under the throttle pedal is a cheaper option :D

 Does it come with a vRS logo? What sort of discount do we get?

But not if under the sump, IIRC!!! :D

If you have a 4x4 you won't need one as the brick is permanently behind the wheel, which has the same effect.

Damn, one of my keys has stobbed working, wonder which one it is :D

from personal experience, and adding to what's already been said, if the extra performance isn't used, i find no increase in fuel consumption. ie. doing 70 in chipped/unchipped mode gives very little difference, if any at all.

what you will find in everyday driving is that if you don't want the extra oomph, you use your foot a little less heavily! i don't think i've heard of anyone who have had the switchable and actually put it back to stock mode - i *never* have. the car is veryveasy to drive smoothly and economically when remapped, if that's your wish

the only time i've used it is for security lockout, antitheft and for the one occasion i couldn't get optimax - even then it was still chipped, just optimised for 95RON not 98.

My Boost controller was fitted as standard...

to the end of my right leg ;)
