Ambient light Skoda Octavia II (powering the leds)

Featured Replies

Hello !

I own a Skoda Octavia 2 , I thought to beautify the inside of the car with some leds . I want to turn on the leds when I have the headlights on. I wanted to feed the leds from headlight safety. I looked into the technical documentation for safety and found no safety at the headlights. Okay, after I understand it would be elsewhere (in the fuse block next to the battery) . My problem is that I do not want to go with the power wire up there.

And I got an idea from someone to tie me to the light on the cigarette lighter(I understand that there should be 12V) .I also thought about the buttons on the doors but I put the multimeter I found the voltage of 6 V or 3v, respectively .

The problem is where to feed the leds with 12v when I turn the headlights on .. if someone can help me with an opinion .

If someone can help me with some advice on powering the leds. (must be 12 V)

Thank you!

I'll leave you some pictures and a video how they light up .

Does your car support footwell lighting? That'll do exactly what you want.

Octavia doesn't have a dedicated pin to power footwell lights, instead it uses terminal 58d output, according to this is pin 50 in the white plug (the one in the middle) on CECM. I looked on ELSA and it says pin 51 (for Octavia MKII 2011).

You also need VCDS coding, Activate Byte-12, Bite-5 in CECM

I think the OP's car is older than that so it's probably connector B, pin 7:
