I finally took delivery if my SE Drive on Wednesday. Went out for a proper drive today and am very pleased. It feels like a nice upgrade from our Mk.III Octavia. The family love it too, which is good!

I requested pre-delivery that the wheel inserts not be fitted to mine.  It cost me around £80 for the wheel bolt caps and centre inserts, and I prefer the wheels this way, but each to their own.  We all have different tastes.

Had her since January this year, almost swapped out for a Kia Niro due to rising petrol costs and my rather heavy right foot, but stuck with the Karoq, prefer the higher driving position and all the kit of the L trim.

If you do the sums it’s is rarely worth the cost of changing a car just to get a few extra mpg!

Changing a car due to its age or need a different type, or just because you want a different one is fine though if you have the funds.

Very true, Kia wanted £3500 to exchange, and I only do 5000-6000 miles a year so it would have taken years to recoup that money. Plus the Karoq is a much nicer drive.

And you will find you won't have to wash your new car as often as your previous Karoq!

Im ashamed to say I have only washed mine twice since May 😗 but the Phoenix Orange never really looks dirty!!

Hosepipe ban here so not washed mine for months.

Black cars always look dirty anyway so you can’t really tell!

Shhhhhhhh re washing.  Mine has been washed twice in almost 3 years, both times by the dealer when in for camera fitting then for a service.  Both times against my express instructions!   😠

Managed to find a Phoenix Orange 1.5tsi Sportline with Winter+ and Amundsen+ packs, one month old and £4000 less than new retail price so whats the point of waiting months? Pick it up next week and say goodbye to my  Black 1.5tsi SEL.

No more spending ages trying to locate my car in the car park!

Until everybody else catches on & Phoenix Orange becomes the only colour available  ( ?Model t Ford - Any colour you like provided it's black.....?)

@Keithjock Very nice!

I also have the same model (but manual) and colour incoming sometime early in the new year, can’t wait 😁

I must admit I’m also in two minds about the wheel inserts, I did ask the dealer if I could swap them for 18’s but they reckoned they couldn’t. Will have to wait and see how they look in the flesh I guess. Did they offer regular centre caps & wheel nut caps when you picked it up?

Back in my Yeti days several people ordered the car and were told they had to have the standard poor riding 17” wheels by Skoda UK.

Once ordered they contacted Skoda where the car was to be made and arranged substitute 16” wheels available for other markets to be fitted. They were even able to get all season tyres put on from new, not strictly available in UK.

I tried both 16” and 17” wheels on Yeti and the ride improved dramatically on the 16”. I am still using the 16” wheels and winter tyres on my Karoq. The ride is so much better on these compared to the standard 19”, at the expense of perhaps some ultimate summer cornering grip that I have no intention of ever using.

(Note though that a Karoq on 19” wheels is an entirely acceptable ride to me still and much better than a Yeti on 17” which in retrospect wasn’t!)
