Skoda Connect

Featured Replies

I tried to register my new car on Skoda Connect - unsuccessfully.  Here's my email to Skoda:

I've tried to register my car on the Skoda Connect website, by typing in my VIN.

However, after I enter the VIN and click 'Continue', I am informed that 'Sorry, the service is temporarily unavailable.'

Why was I not told that about the unavailability of the service before I entered the VIN.  I work in the field of User Experience (UX), and IMHO, the current website does not lead to a good user experience.  I don't mind if the service is unavailable, but it would be better to know before I had to type in the VIN.

Update - it failed at the activation step!

I think Skoda Connect maybe down as my car hasn't connected for the last 3 days. I have the red globe again.

I've also had problems with Connect over the past week. I tried to input three route trips into the sat nav, the app says "successfully sent", but none of the routes arrived, so I had to put them in manually. However, I've since topped up the Adblue, but although it took a day to be recognised on the app that the Adblue level was ok, the warning on the matrix screen disappeared straight away.

At the beginning of the week my car showed a white globe with a white car on the sat nav. By Wednesday it had turned to a red globe with a white car. Today it is just a red globe.

Some services are still connected but according to the Care Connect, the services are not connected.

I find the whole Skoda Connect very patchy. Its more down than up and I certainly won't be paying to renew it come January.

I'm assuming that this is the first time that you have had the warning to top up the Adblue? If so how many miles had you done before the warning appeared?

The first alert came on at about 6,100 miles, stating I had 1500 miles to go. Although I could have left it a while longer, the warning obviously comes up at each start up, so I bought a 10ltr Adblue from Halfords. I managed to get about 9 ltrs in (6,180 miles showing), so I'll give it a month or so then put the remainder in, rather than have it in storage. The Adblue tank is 12 ltrs, which is a fair chunk of weight to be carried around every day.

I eventually had to contact Skoda and re-register Skoda Connect to get the Care Connect services back.

I hope that I'm not going to have to do this every month or so as this is the third time since March.

I believe the 'red globe' mentioned above means your car is not connected to the Internet, and therefore you are not connected to Skoda Connect. It has a wider meaning than whether you are connected to Skoda Connect or not.
