So how do we sit at long hold traffic lights without the brake lights annoying those behind us, because as I understand it Auto Hold also has the brake light on.

Some VW Group models have rear brake lights on with Autohold and some do not.

If you do have them on they can be coded out.

Some drivers have no idea if they are on or not, if it is the car they are driving, those behind them know.

Coded out?

Karog SEL 4x4 2.0

Can’t see how it’s a problem , the car facing you at a junction with its headlights on won’t switch their headlights off so as not to annoy you, and you wouldn’t do it either,so why worry about your brake lights.

If you really don’t want them to be on when sitting at lights you’d need to slip it into neutral and apply the handbrake.

Brake lights are bright red and at eye-level, and unavoidable if you're sat behind another car. Headlights are normally below the level of your rear window, so not shining directly into your eyes. I agree that it's a nuisance to other drivers if you're sat for a while at lights with your brake lights on.

Just ignore the UK Highway code then.

Out of Date obviously, Fog Lights for Poor Visibility only,  Cornering Fog Lights for Style. 2 Fog Lights wrong, select reverse and front fog lights on regardless of situation / location within EU Legislation.

Police Scotland Drivers sit in tail back traffic in Volvo X90's with the Brake Lights on all the time.

Autohold or foot on the brake pedal.  Last time i flashed one as i was behind for over 10 minutes on the A720 and he got out and asked what the problem was, he said must be Autohold

he was not sure. I said sit in here and see how bad your brake lights are and he agreed.
