Also below in Orange but not an error code was

Can anyone shed any light on these please do i can get parts and remedy

Which engine does your car have? It's a good plan to put the engine code in any queries relating to faults. Here's a chart with all the options on, add the relevant one to your profile, ideally. Engine code is also on your car data sticker under the carpet in the boot.

On so I'm confused i just went to take off my mass air flow housing so I could check and clean the sensor and as soon as I loosened the 3 retaining bolts fluid started coming out under pressure so I frightened is that correct it's just supposed to be an air intake system

Yep lol I realised what had flummoxed me is i ordered a new maf off the internet checked against my reg and everything so how can this part I've ordered be correct if the mpi in fact does not have a maf

Wasn't eurocarparts by any chance?

Their parts look-up by registration number just tends to lob everything that would possibly fit any mk1 Fabia at you.

Wow, you're really out of your depth, stop now, your car doesn't even have a MAF, it has a MAP sensor.

What this code really means is that the ECU is uncertain about how much air is actually reaching the engine because the algorithm that compares MAP with Lambda has flagged the error.

It's almost certainly a vacuum or inlet leak, but, since you can't even tell the difference between the cooling system and the air inlet you need professional help finding this leak.

Firstly no need to speak to a person in such a derogatory manner im not an imbecile and don't expect to be spoken to like one and I only made the error as I was going on info from a parts site that stated i had a ma f sensor issue after I'd done the diagnostic i realised my error and know i only have the map sensor now my point was how is a leading parts centre saying my engine has a ma f on their data base when it does not.

Check the brake servo vacuum pipe as they are notorious for splitting near the ends causing air leaks.

Cheers I'm going to do a full check of all pipes first i already have to replace the top hose as seems way pliable shall we say for my liking will check where you suggested also tomorrow :D

Cool :)

Just looked up the servo pipe part number just in case you need one. It's 6Q2612041E

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough, I wasn't suggesting you were an imbecile, simply completely lacking in any experience with engines and barking up the wrong tree.

If you focussed on the rest of what I wrote instead of having a massive overreaction to my daring to suggest you might be out of your depth you'll find that I was trying to be helpful since the thread was meandering off in an unhelpful direction.

Generally speaking if I find someone barking up the wrong tree and tell them, they don't bite me, dogs do that, so I don't tell dogs, I just leave them to bark.

WOOF WOOF! :giggle:

Actually despite what you think of me your quite wrong i admit I had a bit of a blond moment but as it goes I'm quite competent as it goes once I know where I'm at hence asking first and I appreciate any helpful advice given so where would you suggest i look at for this possible vacuum leak ???

@Stewartasb, TMB has already given you the number one most likely spot for vacuum leaks; but do check it visually, carefully, before spending on a replacement.

I caught one really close to total failure recently on a friend's newly-acquired Polo, this was on the downward facing side, everything looked OK from above!

Reminds me, must check to see if her fella has actually replaced it or mended it properly after my duct-tape quick-and-dirty...

I would also say, see if you can find a local member with VCDS who could scan your car with it. I think a 'proper' scan won't throw up errors relating to non-existant components, but not 100% sure on that.

Take sepulchrave's harsh words with a pinch of salt. He does have useful things to say as well.
