Finally got a battery cover, changed the underneath fuse holder as it’s got the locating lugs for the cover, £50 from main dealer 😢, and found a genuine boot liner from scrappy

I feel your pain, being from Yorkshire

Looking smart under the bonnet now. Just need to re-route the vac line to the dump valve I reckon Trev.

I was thinking that, I’m going to change the Dv and intake hose at some point so I’ll get some length of vac hose 👍🏼

You can never find them at the scrappy, they must remove the battery’s with hammers when they arrive lol

will eventually change brake setup, suspension, front and rear anti roll bars and get a fmic.

No major rush though as everything works as it should

Managed to get hold of a white line rear anti roll bar and seat sport front strut brace for a very good price, both just need a little tidy up, looking at purchasing some suspension soon just unsure wether to stay with coil overs Or go lowered springs shocks.

Unpacked the rarb and strut brace, both in pretty good nick but I think I will be them powder coated. Also got some 312mm callipers and carriers, I’m going to refurb the carriers and get Some new callipers, standard discs and some decent pads. The r32 setup I have on needs refurbing  and new discs pads. So might aswell save abit of weight going back to 312. Will have the option of 16” steeles too Then if I want to. Gave her a good clean the other day too

Finally decided on some suspension, opted for more comfort as I’m getting old lol.
polo 9n gti oem spec shocks with some eibach springs all round. Hopefully get best of both worlds and coupled with the rarb should handle okay too.

Also got some new 312mm callipers Discs and pads coming just need to paint green carriers I’ve got silver to match.

Also booked her in for dents removal later next month as she has probably 15 little dings in various places. Be good to have all the bodywork straight :) .

expensive month 😂

New 312mm brakes on, new calipers, refreshed some carriers and new discs Mintex pads and some stealth black hel braided brake lines.

saved 3.5kg a side over the r32 setup 😮

Did the suspension this afternoon, and changed the track rod ends as one had split.

some low milage polo gti shocks and fresh eibachs, new top mounts. I fitted the front strut brace and tbh the red doesn’t look too bad. Just the rarb to sort at some point.

I just fitted the white line rarb as I was too impatient to wait to get it powdercoated. Its not that obvious from the rear which is good as I thought the silver would stick out more.

set it to medium to see how it feels

Nice, please let know how it feels. I'm quite curious how it rides.

It’s a little bouncy, but perfectly livable.

Had the wheel alignment done while I was on holiday.

never had it checked and subframes been off, suspension a few times now, and I’ve just changed track rod ends.

company called Stringtheory in Stratford-on-Avon. Top job and it drives amazing now, surprised what a difference it’s made.

needed the subframe adjusting slightly to get the Camber more equal, and was also done with my weight in drivers seat as I mostly drive it alone.
