Hi, i've only just found this site and it's being so informative...

I have moved to France and my skoda scout 2016. I need to change over rear fog lights from Right to left. It's just failed the French MOT equivalent. CAT. Does anyone please know how I can overcome this issue and have the wiring changed.

Thank you for your help

Hello Greetings Sir,

I Think You Just Need To Figure Out The Rear Fog Power Wire On The Right & Then Wire It To The Left One

But Yours Being A 2016 One,

I Think This Can Be Done Through VCDS Too Just Like The Older vRS & Octavias

Also It’s Worth Giving A Chance To Changing The Left Hand Traffic To Right Hand Traffic Or Vice Versa In The Infotainment Screen :)

Are you saying that the French MOT / CAT requires by law a fog light on the left? Does it allow both sides?

Do you have LED rear light clusters? Check your light cluster if you actually have a fog light on the other side. You can either pull a wire across and feed it into the empty connection place to check if the fog light lights up when activated.

Close your boot lid to check.

If your left fog lights works, simply pull a permanent wire across and leave the left disconnected or have both sides activated if that is legal.

I have a RHD 2008 Octavia MKII L&K estate. I need a LHD fig light. Can anyone tell me the simplest way to rewire across the boot pls? What colour is the fog light wire? Can I splice in or run the new wire out of the socket directly. Where does the wire go on the LHS? BTW I assume my Skoda is standard, it has a dual function single filament fig bulb which simply doubles in intensity when lit. Will the LHS do the same or does it require a different bulb? Thank you.

Just how does it work. There are two rear lights bulbs one of which doubles as the fog light. Is the fog in a separate wire or does it have two wires one from the fog switch to add the extra power? Make sense? I am wary not to mess up the normal lighting and getting a dash warning light
