Are aftermarket headlights likely to dull as badly as originals?

Featured Replies

I’m guessing the answer is no, but I really wanted opinions before I get any!

I think the answer is yes, once they get old like the originals.

I'm waiting the opinion of MOT man this year , but IMHO, my lenses are almost as clear as new ones after a simple buffing with T CUT. Last year I got an advisory for cloudy lenses, but this year now it's getting dark earlier I notice my dips are almost back to normal.

Save your money.

There are plenty of headlight restore kits on the market that also include a lens protector.

I bought a kit and restored my Fabia Mk1 lenses having been in the same position as you.

It cost me £11 and a bit of elbow grease.

T cut is an alternative but takes more time and effort.

Ive got a kit, only did them a couple of weeks ago and already started to go again.

Strangely, if you look around some lights dull and others appear fine.

Good luck anyway

They will dull down again use Maxx 2 part clearcoat to finish after you have buffed out the opaque plastic. I had to get the stuff from Germany couldn't find any in the UK. It is expensive but cheaper than replacing the lenses.
