Hi everyone, hoping to get some experienced advice on what to do with my 1.9pd octavia.

Its been wandering a lot on uneven road recently, and a nice clunk if you jab the brake. Turns out the console bushes are knackered, and the lower engine mount bush is split! Whilst it all needs replacing I wondered whether

a) the engine mount bush is worth upgrading to a poly-bush?

b) What is the best option for the console bushes, I can go down the powerflex poly-bush route, which have a lifetime guarantee which is handy when you're doing 30k a year, or I seem to remember you can use the bushes from a leon cupra or audi S3 which have less voids in and therefore work a bit better and last longer?? Or maybe the meyle HD bushes?

if anyone can point me in the right direction for suppliers of any of these so I can work out the cost that would be great too.

Also, I notice that there are two types of lower arms, sheet steel or cast iron, is there any way to tell which mine should have? As it seems to have one of each at the moment

Not sure about engine mounts but had my consoles done on my old mk11. After a good chat with my mechy of choice (vag tuner) decided to go for original parts. Leon or S3 parts are known for transmitting more NVH and are likely less comfortable. I guess it depends on the condition of your other components too and the roads you frequent.
