Was it the petrol or diesel Vrs?

and what do you prefer the yeti or the oktavia?

cheers

I was a 2006 (56) diesel estate.

Now that I have remapped and done a big brake conversion I prefer the Yeti but it is a higher trim level.

Thanks you. A remap and bigger brakes were exactly my plans for a yeti too.

Oh buggar. So did I really find exactly what I wanted and it turns out I don’t want it?! I thought the other diesel yetis I drove were reasonably refined so I was puzzled by this particular one.

Ive never wanted a diesel but I want the auto DSG. I don’t want a manual petrol but I do need a yeti.

only similar thing I’d consider would be an Audi Q3 but they’re about 7k more and use the same engines.

Maybe you should go back and have another look at the car you looked at, assuming that it is still there. I think you'd probably get used to the extra bit of noise from the diesel engine soon enough, I was just very conscious of the extra noise compared to the mark 3 Octavia diesel that I had at that time. By all accounts the 1.2 petrol DSG Yeti's drive very well and have reasonable fuel economy too, just no 4 wheel drive though; if that matters much to you? The garage was trying to convince me to take one of them on a PCH deal before I saw another much better deal advertised by Simpsons for the Yeti 1.4 L & K which my dealers matched.

I don't know, I drove it, thought it was a bit loud, looked round it again for 30 minutes then drove it again to sense check and it just felt a lot louder and rougher and boomier on a motorway than others.

It wasn't something I wanted to get used to tbh. Not for spending £19k on a car.

Why would you spend £19,000 on cars that you do not know much about then talk about remaps and brake upgrades?

Any reason not just to get a good performing car get a warranty and extend it when required and have a valid warranty?

I'd spend £19k on a car to get the run out SE L Drive model with all the bits on it and to have the longest warranty on it being a 2017 model.

I'd put bigger brakes on it as you can switch them from other VW group cars - or those fitted to the 170PS Yeti's for example - I carry a lot of heavy gear and on test drives the brakes seemed ok but I would prefer a bit more bite.

I'd get a remap done at some point in the future as it helps with fuel economy and better power delivery besides the extra horses.

I always tinker with my cars - the micra is standard haha!

?

How heavy is this weight, and is it being carried currently in the Micra?

It is good that the seats can be removed from the Yeti.

?

Have you looked at a Karoq, the seats can come out and prices should be under £20,000 now, even if Asking Prices are not yet.

Weight wise another person and a van full. I work in film and have to hire vans to transport all the kit.

I like a bit of go and I like a bit of stop.

you can of course tweak the brakes in vcds, as supplied, in medium setting!

That increases or decreases the Brake Assist as does changing steering assist for more or less.

The discs, pads, callipers, pipes & hoses and fluid are exactly the same though.

I am aware of that, suggested as an option!

Car is the same weight, brakes are the same, just for the infirm / disabled there is less brake pedal pressure required,

and hand for when hand controls fitted.

If doing a MOT brake efficiency test is there a better result with the more brake assist setting?

I gave up on the Yeti as I just couldn’t get on with the diesel in the end in order to get one with any sort of poke.

I ended up with a Golf R Estate. 4wd, more space, the right noise and very fast. A lot more money though.

Thanks for the responses on here. I still see yetis and think they look cool, maybe one day.

That's not a diesel though, is it?

And it's an estate! :D
