Changing Front Bumper

Featured Replies

Forgive me as I have very little knowledge about cars, hence my asking this question. I have a Skoda Fabia MK2 2007 that needs the front bumper replacing. I have been looking for second hand parts online and I am wondering whether a MK2 2012 front bumper is compatible with my car? The lower grill is slightly different and so I understand that I would look a little different but I want to ensure that the brackets and fitting are the same before buying the part and that there is not excessive modification that would need to take place in order to fix this. I am trying to keep the cost as low as possible.

In a word -No: The MK2 Fabia received a 'facelift' in 2010, with lots of changes to the front end of the car - the grille and headlights are a different shape meaning that the front bumper and bonnet are different as well.

You are better sourcing a bumper from a pre-2010 car

As said above the font end has changed since yours,  Search online or try local breakers as I'm sure you'll pick up a bumper cheap enough and hopefully in your colour.

Like above the 2010+ bumpers will not fit due to facelift.

Try silver lake auto in Southampton (not far from Bournemouth) as they might have a pre-facelift fab there you can get a bumper off.

Its a fiddly job but not impossible. Hardest part is the bolts on the top corners of the bumper holding them to the wheel arch.
