Anybody running 18's just out of interest? Trying to gauge ride height of either the hatch or estate before I pull the trigger and order.

Seemingly adding sports suspension is no longer a thing on Octy's.

18's on torsion beam suspension is not a happy combination

Need to fill those arches somehow :worried:

You have the same arch gap whichever size wheel you go for.

Bigger wheels just give you less tyre.

The only way to lessen the gap is to lower the suspension.

According to the brochure I've had through this morning from Lightcliffe, 3 key personalisation is standard, as are the F&R parking sensors and the 8" Amundsen.

Can't see immediately about the rear split seat though.

Edit - found that it says split and folding rear backrest, no mention of armrest and storage box though.

I've uploaded the PDF file for you to look at - SE Technology specification guide - July 18.pdf

Thanks for this. Close to ordering 1.0 DSG SE tech on a PCH deal and whilst I was relatively sure I’d been able to piece together what the spec was, this has confirmed it. Can’t believe how hard it is to find this information out!

Hmmm. It's not gonna be that impressive then but, better than standard, is it DSG ? the new TCU makes the DSG much fast/smoother/better

Just found racechips gts kit which is cheaper but with 150/260 - shame as I wanted to put money into the local economy too.

Thoughts?

@gRobertsis your motor on a 2 year PCH? I wouldn't mind doing the same but ideally would want to keep the car longer if I'm throwing money at it.

It is mate, although the £350-400 I'm spending on the race chip/DTUK FSR, is money I would have spent had the dealer of not matched the newer deal anyway.

I can easily sell it afterwards or even pay to get it re-programmed for my next car :)

Sorry I've had no dealings with racechips, chasing the numbers can be dangerous, DTUK have a great reputation backed up with UK staff & pretty flexible hours & comms

I live a few miles from dtuk but will see how it goes. Racechip is £80+ cheaper though. :(

TBH I know & value DTUK's customer service I've needed to contact them 5 times over 4-1/2 years with 5 items on 2 different cars. All my contact has been by phone or internet, evenings/weekends, which has been worth far more than £80 but, it's your £80 so you need to decide, where are Racechips based ?

If we weren't talking about people I'd used before I'd go with the local guys just to be able to go see them in person, have the unit fitted & know they are there to be contacted so easily. If that's not worth £80 I don't know what is

Most of these are probably as standard in the Tech but just confirming them if yours does have the following:

"Rear seat split and folding with armrest and storage box " - showing on SEL

Sorry to dig up an old topic.

Just noticed in regards to armrest, that it comes as standard on the Estate but not the Hatch - for whatever reason.

Yeah the armrest with load-through and cupholders in the rear is definitely an option on the hatch.

Hi sorry to resurrect an old thread.

I've just ordered a 2018 Octavia Hatchback SE Technology.

The listing didn't state it had sat-nav and when I queried they said "It has sat-nav capability but it needs an SD card". Can someone clarify this for me please? If I simply just insert an SD card, the sat-nav will be ready to use?

Thanks!

I've got a 2019 SE Tech car, they all come with Sat Nav, which needs the factory supplied SD card to make it work. I'd be wary about that description as it kind of reads as if the Skoda SD card has been lost or put in another vehicle! I'd be insisting on the supplying garage providing a replacement SD card, as the Sat Nav is an integral part of this specification.

The SD card has the maps on. The SE Technology has the amundsen radio in it and will only work with an original skoda SD card. If you have no joy with the dealers, there are usually 2nd hand škoda SD Cards for sale on that will known Internet auction site in 16GB and 32GB sizes, although better to go for the 32GB size as the although the latest full map will actually fit on the 16GB card, it is only a matter of time until you'll need the 32GB card anyway. The maps can be downloaded for free from škoda's website by going to the updates section and typing in your vin number. Insert the škoda SD card onto slot 1 in the glove box after copying on the latest map.

Thanks guys! I did a bit of research on here and also concluded that I'd need a Skoda SD card and not any normal one. My local dealership wants the equivalent of a couple tyres! The seller couldn't resolve this for me so instead knocked a bit off the price. I will source one and hopefully it restores this feature as that was the main reason I went for an SE Tech.

So the car ended up coming with an SD card - poor communication between the Cazoo customer service representative and wherever the car was located. Overall pleased with the car and buying experience though!

In terms of accessories, can anyone confirm if these are standard or optional:

  • Magnetic Boot Lamp Light
  • Boot Netting System
  • Boot Hold Fixings

My 2018 SE Tech Estate has none of these.

Ditto that, I didn't know you could get a magnetic boot lamp light!

Kind of funky - mag boot lights.  Got one on my Scout.  Generally installed after 2017/8. You might be able to retrofit, but honestly, probably not worth the hassle.
