Seats: Sportline vs L&K

Featured Replies

Have sat in both seat types at the dealership and struggling to make my mind up. The Sportsline seats have the sport style 'grips' on the side which make them good if you're tearing around corners but not sure how comfortable they'd be on longer journeys. L&K seats feel more comfortable but I prefer the look of the Sportsline ones.

Looking for some opinions from people who've had the car a while and tested either seat long term.

I’ve done a fair few 3-6hrs stints in the Sportline seats and they are fantastic.  Firm but supportive.

Comfiest car I’ve ever had.

Also have sportline seats and i also do 6hr drives few times a year.  No complaints at all. Although i cant see the l&k seats being uncomfortable either, only sat in them in the showroom though.

Just done 6h in the sportline today, no issues at all. Most comfortable car I've owned. 6000 miles so far, mostly long trips and the missus and I both find it really good. I'm sure the L&K would be at least as comfortable but I've no experience of them. Heated seats not standard in the Sportline (or wern't when I bought mine, not sure how the 'plus' etc works) but remember you might need to add them if it matters to you.

Yeah agree, i have the heated sportline seats and they are nice

Heated alcantara Sportline seats here. Just did 3,500 miles over nine days. Good support. Very comfortable. Easy to keep clean. I'm 5'7" and like the seat high, it has good range.

Only used the heat a few times. Low setting is good enough for me, then switch it off after a few minutes. Nice.

It took me awhile to get the lumbar support right, but it's good now. Also, the electric seat has three setting buttons. Nice for small changes during a long trip.

I tried both the Sportline and L&K seats before I ordered the L&K. I prefer the L&K seats as the head restraints are fully adjustable.

Do the Sportline seats get both heating and cooling?

No. Just heated (front and rear, both options).

Wouldnt say u need cooling with the alcantara though imo.  Leather i can understand as it can get rather warm

Done many very long drives in the L&K seats and they are very comfortable.

Only thing I'd say is that the bit you sit on could be extended under the legs a wee bit.   The Audi A6 i had previously had a bit that slid out to give you that option.

Not really an issue though.

My only bug bear with the sportline seats is that you still cannot get both seats with electric controls and lumbar support (passenger seat is manual control only).

...and it's available (IIRC as standard) in other markets within Europe, on the Sportline.

Thank the Lord I didn't buy a Sportline - SWMBO would have taken me apart with a rusty hacksaw if I'd got better toys than her:D.

On a more serious note,  the L&K seats are very comfortable for motorway cruising, though obviously won't support you as well in the twisties as the Sportline seats. I guess the question is how much of each do you plan to do.

Passengers  electric is always as option in sportline...

From everyones reviews both will be comfortable, for some, its because they dont like leather and prefer alcantara, i do myself but dont hate leather. If an l&k came up at right price when i got mine id have prob got l&k, but as the sportline with few options popped up at a good price and v v low mileage (930) i went with the sportline and not regretted it. Love the seats, best ive had.

Hi Gang, as a lot of you are talking about the about the seats in the SuperB, I have the Wagon/Est 4x4 3.6 L&K ( last of the best engines)

I do a lot of miles 6 to 16 hours some times and fine the seats are great but in the sports line more than 6 hours kills my Bum but still a wonderful toy,

but not as good as the L&K but for sure looks so sportier inside of the cabin, anyway both are great cars. ops Sorry a Brit in Latvia if that's any help lol

Steve

I love the look of the SportLine seats.... but I wouldn’t give up the heated/ventilated (not to mention electric adjustment) that my L&K has.

My L&K seats have never caused me an ounce of issue in the comfort department and I never seem to ache even after really long journeys

They could do with a bit more side support for corners which is where to spotline seats come into their own.

The other complaint I have (although minor) is the seat heating doesn't get nearly as hot as it should when compared to the ones in my partner's VW Tiguan....

But that's about it

Both are comfortable but it comes down to personal preference at this level...

Just wish they did sportlines seats in full leather like they did in earlier Ocy VRS models that would be the best of both worlds

:)

Personally I find setting 2 is ample, but if it bothers you that much find someone with VCDS to turn them up.

Yeah setting 3 feels like bum on fire lol.

Didnt know u could turn em up! Not that i would need to

Maybe mine have a fault as the drivers really doesn't get anywhere near as hot as my previous MK2s and my partners Tiguan..

I've haven't actually sat in the passenger seat with the heating on before but _she does say they ain't as good as in her car ...and I can definitely confirm when my driver's to her passenger seat ..!!!

I wonder if the wrong fuse is in...or I might be talking total rubbish :)
