Are you happy with your Karoq

Featured Replies

Hi Fabcol have to agree with your post.

I am sure that for a lot of people, myself included, the Karoq is their first Skoda. After brilliant write-ups etc on the internet and in the press, I fancied a change and I do like the styling of the Karoq.

However, I am not impressed by Skoda customer care or should that be "Customer ? Don't care" and to be honest the dealers seem to be quite happy to fob new owners off with "Skoda are looking into it". The dealers were quite happy to sell these suspect cars, even after they had been told that there was an "issue" with them.

Certainly my last Skoda and possibly any VW product.

  • Picked our 2.0 tdi Edition 4x4 on launch day and it's now done almost 10,000 miles. Don't particularly like the 19" alloys and think it's daft that you can't specify 18".  Never had problems with kerb

After Brexit we might have too!

After half a year and 10000 km, I enjoy driving my Karoq more and more.

The car itself is quiet and comfortable, well built, but also the extras I have makes the experience much more enjoyable, as following:

- the ACC I use also in the city, on large boulevards, because is able to maintain alone a safe distance to the front car, to accelerate and to brake.

- when I leave in the morning, the interior is warm and the windows are defrosted, thanks to the the auxiliary heater I'm able to start from the app or from the remote controller.

- when it's cold, my fingers get delighted on the heated steering wheel.

- when I drive in the night, the LED headlights spread a long and powerful light, which makes the jurney more secure.

-when I hit the throttle, even if the road is covered by snow, the 4x4 and the 150 HP make me filling like driving on tracks. It's hard to make it slip :D

- the electrically operated trunk is easy to open and to close, even with the foot.

- the panoramic roof was great in the summer

- the automatic parking system, I use often when doing side parking.

- the Front Assist and the Cross Traffic Assist saved me several times.

I feel the same, I don't have the extras like yours, just the basic SEL DSG 4x4 Tdi.

It feels well put together, it's got enough power, handles well, the standard equipment is more than enough for me and it is just as good in the mud as the 4x4 Octavia's I have had.

Very satisfied.

  • 2 weeks later...

Karoq SE-L td. Now with 1,600 miles. Averaging 49mpg. Mostly urban, some motorway.

After my Citroen C5 Exclusive-2005 version with hydraulic suspension and all the toys it lacks character. (panache, joie de vivre-Know what I mean).

I do like the ease of access. High driving position like Postman Pat or the village mini bus. Seven speed auto dsg gearbox, although it's not that smooth starting away from the lights. But once you've leaned how to drive who needs to wiggle a stick and push up and down on a pedal in modern traffic?

Sun visors are nowhere large enough to block the sun when turned to the driver side window. Seem flimsy too.

Seat belts awkward to fasten, socket low down tight between the seat and centre console.

12v accessory sockets are permanently live so dashcam plugs have to be removed every time to avoid flattening the battery. They could be hard wired but the lease company doesn't allow that.

Devloped a rattle from the tailgate.

Two and a half hours at the dealer whilst they dismantled the rear trim panels and then discovered it was the offside gas support strut. None in stock so wait for orders after Christmas. I hope they replace both sides, will be checking for that.

Rear doors accumulate road dirt on the inner surface, which is part of the wheel arch. Odd design feature and annoying. I always wipe down these hidden areas when washing a car so not a major problem but could be in the future if it causes corrosion.
