Thanks for all the replies..yes,i am trying to avoid ULEZ..mine is euro5. diesel car has to be euro6 where as petrol euro4..

So, would it be worth going for this petrol..they will give me 5grand(based on inspection and test drive). I have to top up the rest. I like 18" sporty wheel.

Except that when running a taxi with 18" wheels ride is harsher, tyres are MUCH more expensive and wear out much quicker.

You're right, none of the diesels were. Last engines were EA189's and they were all (1.6 and 2.0's) Euro 5.

Most of the diesel car with 65 plates should be Euro6.

That depends on the model. There was a changeover period where existing models could be Euro 5 but newly introduced models had to be Euro 6.

Hello guys. Thanks for your support with wise advice. I have decided not to go for any cars as i have found out that Petrol car has to be even Euro6 to registered them for PCO. This is ridiculous. Previously they said Euro4 should be okay but now they have changed it to Euro6 (both petrol and diesel).  All my effort went in vain.

Now I have to pay attention to the car i have. I will keep my finger crossed if any technology comes out to convert euro 5 to euro6.

 

NB: does anyone know if I can put 18inch (205/40) alloys and tyres in my car as i have found out that similar another car has this wheels and tyres?

You could probably fit 225/40/R18 if the Octavia uses the same sizes as the Superb.

 

 

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am back here to my old thread. Finally I am selling my favourite Octy and excited to get a new one. My budget is around 8 grand. and I want 65/16 plate with all the high spec if possible. At the moment i have found one in Northampton but that one is not elegance. it is OCTAVIA SE L TDI 110. mileage is 90k. 6 service stamps from main delaer. i like everything about the car and what i dont like is 16inch alloys and no front parking sensors. by the way, does anyone know if Number Plate and DRL lights come LED as standard for this car and for that year.

does anyone in this forum has the same car? 

please share me your experience. I am going to view this car on this friday.. or if anyone wants to recommend me any other car would be highly appreciated. thanks in advance.
