After removing the Fabia badges from the back of the car I thought I'd experiment with the location of the remaining v/RS one.

This is what I decided to do in the end...what do you think?

I can see what your trying to do, but to be honest I don't think it works. I'd just take it off and leave the Skoda badge on its own

I've moved mine, and I'm still not sure, but at the end of the day it's only a 10 minute job to relocate it, so if you decide you don't like it, just shift it again !

'I think they look better with just the central skoda badge and nothing else

I'm the same - I just have the Skoda badge on the back of mine, and think that looks the best. I also like the fact it doesn't give other drivers many clues :D

Thanks for your comments and views. Im still unsure myself to be honest. Looks OK in the flesh doesnt look quite as good in the photo.

I think it looks great. Indivdual is cool I think and it certainly does not look out of place.

Know what you mean Harry, but at the end of the day - if you like, it keep it

As an idea, Josh took the Skoda badge out and put the vRS badge in it place. Something to consider? There should be some pics of that about here somewhere...

Yeh, I've seen a few pics of just the vrs badge in the centre where the Skoda badge used to be. I just thought I'd try something different.

Eventually I think it will be moved in place of the Skoda badge, or even taken off to leave the skoda badge by itself, who knows.

Again, thanks for your honesty

Well, after some careful thought I decided to rip off that Skoda badge and put the v/RS badge in its place.

Looks a lot more clean and neater now IMO.

To be honest, I thought with the vRS badge under the Skoda badge

made it look like a Special Edition Fabia.....

I like the debadging. I took the Octavia letters off my Octavia (funnily enough) but left the vRS badge in place on the right.

I think you gotta have the Skoda badge on for pride reasons. Good effort though.

How shiny is your car? how do you manage it?

I just removed the fabia lettering at first and left the vRS badge on the right.

It looked "unbalanced" to me so thats how I moved on to placing it under the skoda badge. Then decided I wanted the vRS badge on its own.

As for the shine, thats P21S carnauba wax!

'I think they look better with just the central skoda badge and nothing else

Me too. ;)

how do you debadge? is there any filling to be done or are they all just glued on, excuse my ignorance just never done but would consider it for mine

1) Use a hairdryer to warm the badges up first

2) Apply 3M Adhesive Remover using a cloth to stop excess running on paintwork, let it work for a few seconds

3) With some dental floss, get behind the badges and "saw" the badges off. Make sure you pull the floss away from the paintwork to avoid scratching. Be careful once you near the end of each badge as they will fly off.

4) The badges are now off. You will be left with a lot of foam still stuck to the paintwork. To remove this I again used the 3M adhesive remover and a bit of heat. A lot of persistance was required. I used a micro-fibre cloth to "rub" the remaining crud away.

Hope this helps. Dunno how efficient this method is compared to what other people have done, but its how I did it and it seemed to work.

and that will work for the skoda, fabia and the vrs badge will it, no issues with getting the surrounding paint too warm?just asking

Very similar to what I did Harry, except I used some fishing wire and WD-40 to ease the badges off, and WD-40 again to get the excess residue off.

Superdan - won't work for the Skoda badge, on the Fabia anyway, as it's applied into two holes in the bootlid. So you'll be left with those visible unless you get them filled and smoothed, or put something else in its place.

Steve

so has harrystainer had his holes filled in the back...no pun intended, i mean the boot...goodness, did you do that yourself? sorry to ask so many questions

looks cool now without the skoda badge. :) probably get more offers 2 race now tho. :D

I think he's put the vRS badge over them....

Steve

Yeah, to clarify.

The Fabia and vRS badges are just stuck on with adhesive and removed using tips already discussed. The Skoda emblem badge has TWO holes behind it approx 2" apart, which the vRS badge conveniently recovers up and I assume seals as well (as it goes straight into the trim on boot lid on inside. ;))

What I did is seal off the boot by the sticking two 1p coins to the inside of the lid, and it was then filled from the outside. Then a bodyshop smoothed it off and sprayed the whole area.

Then I scratched it 1 week into its new life as a debadged boot. :thumbdwn:

Looks ugly like that.

I have an idea though...you know the CTR? Do the same and see what you get :)

You wont like this guys but I think they look fine as standard. I wont be moving mine
