Hi everyone ... I really hope someone can help me as I am at my wits end ! 2013 superb estate dsg , 58000 miles fsh just had major at crowsons spalding, the problem is massive power loss when trying to accelerate , pulling away turning etc , foot presses down on throttle and the car loses power.... almost feels like a stall in a manual,  2 or 3 seconds and power comes back on , so flipping dangerous! Crowsons found no codes !! They said they cant really do anything with no codes ... I really don't know what to do , I did have a similar thing with my previous volvo s60 d5 .... it was the reluctor ring , possible? but would that throw a code?  Any help/advice would be really appreciated

What engine do you have?

When did the problem start?

Hi .. it's 2.0 170 , had car 7 months ... has happend around 8 times , took car to dealer for service today , happend 3 times on the way !  Same coming home ...   it does seem to do it more often when turning , slow down and then accelerate on roundabout for example

If it was serviced at Skoda Dealer - looks like fix - software update - was applied...

Maybe, maybe not. It's unlikely to be the problem here though.

It sounds a lot like fuel starvation.

Sounds like the mechanics who have looked at it are incompetent though.

A few people reported similar problems after their car had the Emmisions fudge applied. @S00perb springs to mind as one person who had this issue.

First check these days is always has it been done, is the 24 month Trust Building Measure Guarantee running.

Then the other basics can be checked.

Fuel filter etc.

First check is done in a matter of minutes, the rest need the bonnet opening. Or the door and the OBD port used for Fault Codes logged etc.

Am out of touch as to how these modern cars work but years ago I had a issue similar to what your saying. After a number of things tried it turned out to be the hose from air filter box to inlet manifold, it had split on the underside. When going to accelerate the split was opening up and gulping air in and loose power, nearly stall and then suddenly take off again.
