Tyre Pressure, what is yours?

Featured Replies

What do you set your Tyre pressure at? Do you set the fronts higher than the rears?

I set mine a bit higher at the front. 34psi front and 30/32 psi rear depending on load.

35psi or 240kpa all round 205/55/16 tyres on a 2.0 TDi

Wears very well.

34psi all round here.

+1    also approx 4psi for motorway (long trips)   petrol estate

32 front 34 rear 1.9 Octy and Leon TSI both 205/55/16. 18” on Superb Combi gets about 34psi all around.

Forgot to add that the rears go up to 300kpa or 44psi when fully loaded on camping trips!!!!

Makes it quite harsh when I forget to reduce pressure after unloading everything!!

2.2 bar all-round because I'm lazy.

1.9 PD on 225/45/17

A harsh ride but any lower and I risk wheel damage due to the road conditions.

I've always joked my next car will be a big 4x4 to soften the rough roads, now I think a hovercraft is a better idea as I can't afford a helicopter.

34 front 44 rear in mine, fully laden pressures, partly due to the loads I carry for work, partly due to helping rolling resistance and tyre wear ;)

@Pudq1  best look in the filler flap and see the recommendations, you know how the car is used and loaded, what tyres are on.

Maybe go towards the higher recommended pressures and drop them a little if they feel wrong, but within the recommended pressures.

& check and adjust to the season and temperatures and tyre fitted etc.

PS

& reset the TPMS each time you check or reset the pressures.

I like 36psi all round but put 40psi in them because the car sits for weeks on end.

225/40r18 and they wear perfectly - actually the registration guy (your MOT equivalent) keeps trying to knock them back for edge wear every year and I have to keep explaining it's the design of the tyre (Bridgestone RE050A).  They shut up when you ask them to produce a tread depth gauge and show where the tread depth is <1.5mm (our absolute minimum legal depth).

Mines a MKIII Tsi Vrs,  39PSI all round

( 2.7 Bar )

As recommended inside filler cap.
