Polo 9n subframe and wishbones fit a vrs?

As per title really!

 

does the engine matter?

 

What other platforms will share the subframe?

I'd think that you would need to stick with models that used the engine/gearbox, so that should mean 9N Polo GT, SEAT Cupra or Fabia VRS.

 

Ie from Polo 9N GT or Ibiza Cupra with same engine, I've just checked for the carrier and that is okay for a 2005 model anyway for ASZ/BLT including some other "B" engine code for Cupra.

 

Same limitation for wishbones as well I'd reckon.

 

Edit:- SEAT Cupra wishbone has a 6LL part number so is different as well as its console having a solid "6LL" version of the rear bush.

Local to me is a 6L seat leon FR, would this fit? sure they are the ones with the PD130 lump

No Leon is a different platform from Fabia/Polo/Ibiza/A2.

 

If the Ibiza 1.9 was a PD160, it would explain the unique engine type that only appeared in the SEAT Ibiza applications in the parts listing.

 

Are you sure that you didn't mean to write Ibiza 6L as I always thought Ibiza went - 6K > 6L > 6J as far as MK3 > MK4 > MK5 goes?

 

Which engine, if that was an Ibiza FR 6L does it have as they were sold in both petrol and derv versions?

 

Edit:- Leon is 1M > 1P > 5F as far as MK1 > MK2 > MK3 goes.

Ibiza** apologies I used to have a seat leon so i'm used to typing that haha!

 

Pretty sure the FR had the PD 130 (same as the VRS fabias) and the cupra had the PD160, 

 

I think its a diesel one that he is stripping, will make sure before i get the parts off of him

Oh jesus, knew someone would ask this...

 

WELL, me and my mates went to change the top mounts on the suspension, we took the wheel off after jacking the car up.

 

The studs on the top mounts were touching the hole on top, seperate problem requiring 2 new front struts!

 

Saw that there was a bolt missing outta the subframe, a 19mm bolt i think my friend said? (sounds pretty important)

 

We gave it all a wobble and everything was loose, the wishbones were moving sideways by about 3-4mm, WE thought oh right some d*ick hasnt tightened it up, oh no how wrong we were, somebody has stripped the thread and welded a long bolt to the wishbone so bacically its a just a ****ty weld holding the wish bone in, looked on the other side and was similar problems.

 

The guys just said it will be easier to drop the whole subframe out and replace everything!

 

TBH i was bricking it, but got the subframe and wishbones for £40 and will get mates rates at the garage

Yes the Ibiza FR subframe is suitabe.

Ibiza, polo and Fabia subframes are interchangeable, except the subframe for 5 speed gearbox won't fit the 6 speed car. I had to change mine that was a 5 speed petrol to a 6 speed diesel when I made the engine swap.
