SD card for sat nav

Featured Replies

Hi

I've just boughta skoda rapid spaceback and it has infotainment system but no sat nav. Do I need to buy some SD card and where can i buy it?

Thanks

AN

I didn't think both if the headunits the rapid comes with had sat nav. I think the more expensive version comes with and the cheaper version you need to use your phone for maps using link.

Please correct if I'm wrong.

It would most likely come with an Amundsen head unit if it had sat nav, the maps are pre loaded. These can be updated via  the the purchase of  SD card and loaded into the unit.

You don't say which model you have, car/head unit?

I have rapid spaceback registered nov 2015. The infotainment unit has 8 buttons and it certainly is amunsden. The card slots in glove box are empty. Do you know where can i buy an sd card for the unit? Thanks

^^^ Ahh....I have mine preloaded so if I want an update I buy the SD card. I see your Amundsen does need the card in the glove box to work the nav. I guess it's a visit to the dealer or one of those well known auction sites but I'd tread with caution with the latter.

A post in the ICE section would be favourable, at least you can get a little better info from that section.

2015 4 buttons each side should be Amundsen. 3 buttons would be Bolero which has no Nav.

If the seller advertised it as having Satnav, I would ask them to supply the SD card since it is clearly missing.

The official SD card can be got from SKoda dealers for ££££ or (unofficial) from auction sites for about a quarter of that.

A guy from this forum is offering me one for £30. By auction site, do you mean ebay?

The guy you are talking to on this forum @Rustynuts is the expert here. Much more reliable than random persons on fleabay or other sites.
