Android car

Featured Replies

So Friday there, Android car stops working. Plugged in cable to phone as usual ( been working for over a year from new) , nothing happened. Went to the screen and seen the 3 choices Android , Apple etc. Pressing the screen, nothing happening. Changed the cable , restarted the phone ,, still nothing. My phone is a works phone LGK10 2017.

anything , any ideas before I contact the dealer ,, I can hear them now saying " aye its probably your phone and not the Columbus set up"

Car is 67 plate

uninstall Android Auto (not Car) from your phone, reinstall, and try again.

How do you do that ?

Try with a different phone if possible, then you'll know if the culprit is your phone or the head unit.

In my experience I have less issues if the car is on (doesn;t have to be running) before I connect the phone.

But as always, first uninstall and reinstall android auto on your phone, if that doesn't work try another phone or tablet.

Hade the same issue after a F/W update of my phone - Galaxy S9+.

Turned out to be my own mistake after a while. As Android Auto isn't/wasn't  supported by Samsung in Sweden I did download the APK from a server. When upgrading F/W this APK somehow stopped working. Downloaded a new version and after that it all works like a charm.

Try your phone in a different car and try a different phone in your car to pinpoint where the actual problem is.

Curious as for when are you talking about? I've been using AA since 2016 in Sweden via the official AA app from Play Store. 3 different phones, Motorola, LG and Huawei, never messed with sideloading or modifying anything, never had issues to get a new phone connected to the car. Is it a Samsung thing?

As I understood its a Samsung thing. I don't know why though!?

I have a colleague who used AA in his Astra with his Hauwei phone right up until a recent phone update which killed it. My Samsung S9+ works fantastically with it
