Fob won't unlock doors

Featured Replies

Seen a post with my exact problem on Google but can't find it again on here.  My fobs have stopped unlocking my doors, I've read something about resetting them with if you have two keys which I do. Any advice , links grateful.

Page 178 in the instruction book.

Could be page 180 depending on the edition.

Key blade in driver's door lock will sort that one out.

Lets hope that the manual is not in the car and/or they know how to do that . Do you OP?

What about if you have a Kessy type key? Does that still have a blade?

Thanks AG Falco

I'm making what I thought was a common sense suggestion here, now if the OP's car has Kessy and Skoda have not managed to design into that "key" a removable/extendable actual lock key blade, metal or plastic, then some one is having a laugh, normally the lock cover on the driver's door can be eased off using a key or key sized tool.

Yep - Kessy keys have a blade -- then pop the trailing edge cover off the door handle  ( little access slot underneath - just be careful to not mark paint on door ) .. and that gives access to a regular lock barrel. Flip out the blade from the key (  as per usual ).

Never had any faults with my Kessy in 3 years - apart from frequent changes of Fob Batteries ( every 6 to 8 months or so).

Hope OP gets sorted easily.

But you can still lock your key in the car?

I was told that with my last car that it was impossible to lock the key in the car.

I found two ways to do it. ( on purpose )

Thanks AG Falco

  • 3 weeks later...

Does your key, perhaps need a new battery. Mine used to give a warning about every year.
