can you activate extra functions on the Octavia. When I purchased Land Rover all optional extras where already fitted to car you just had to purchase switch and get land rover computer to enable option and of you go, is this something that can be done with Skoda ?

Yes, either VCDS for everything you’ll ever need (and £££ to go with that) or OBDEleven for everything you’ll realistically need apart from being able to take an autoscan but substantially cheaper and is run from an Android phone/tablet, similar to the IID tool for Land Rover’s. All the options aren’t already fitted, but there is some hardware that can be coded for extras. See the main VCDS thread pinned at the top of this page
