Got mine replaced too, under warranty.   Took a couple of hours, straightforward.

Took the 'borrowed' Fabia in today to get the headlight replaced. Wasn't charged for the labour so the bill came to £140.

Was told the Superb should be back with me tomorrow as they'd fixed it but it was still to be re-coded. Let's hope it's true as scraping ice off the windscreen in the mornings and cold seats is becoming a bind!!

Christ £140 for the headlight ..My stop startf ignition is starting to go faulty...I can probably only dream of a £140 bill to repair

Sometimes at least 4 prods are needed to get some life out of the car other times it's perfectly fine

Worried about taking it in as it's just out of warranty and for some reason DM Keith told me I wasn't eligible for extended cover with Skoda/Be as it wasn't purchased by the first owner  when it was new (go figure)

Anyone had this fixed out of warranty ?

Don't think it should be too expensive.  Mine was done in a couple of hours and I wouldn't have thought a new button would be too much.

Couple of hundred quid maybe maximum?   Not ideal but not earth shattering.

I spent 5 mins last night trying to get the car to start. Same symptoms as before (car opens, but start button and fob not talking to each other). Replaced the battery in the fob but no difference. Placed a call this morning to the local dealer and it's booked in for an initial look on Wednesday.

Also the 'auto-hold' is playing up. Try to pull away and the brakes bind on and then release causing the car to (sometimes) stall (last think I need with the 'above ' issue). Switch auto-hold off and everything works fine. This is also being looked at on Wednesday. Any-one else experienced the 'auto-hold' issue (mine is Manual gearbox)

I bet a faulty clutch pedal position sensor could both prevent the car from starting by not showing that the clutch is released, and mess up the auto-hold by not showing when the clutch is being engaged.

Good call!! I'll mention that tomorrow when I drop the car off.

I will say that when I collected the car after they had last repaired it, the clutch felt different. Although it was heavier, it did feel smoother. But it might have just been the fact of driving their new Fabia for a month!

The clutch switch could also be causing your non start issue. We had a new shape Mondeo with keyless start and had bother with it it starting. You'd press the button and nothing despite the pedal being on the floor. Dealer adjusted first time and replaced second time and to be fair it solved the issue but the confidence had gone so traded for a Superb.

Thanks, I'll keep it in mind but I'm not sure the clutch and the start are related in my problems. I can't get the ignition lights to come on sometimes and that doesn't need the clutch depressed. Oh, and sometimes I can't get the car to stop regardless of how hard I press the button!

The car was finally return to me fully working yesterday. Was advised the fault was down to a loose wire within a multi-plug connector...

Hi.

i have exact same problem. Do you know which multiplug connector are we talking about?

This sounds exactly like the issue I have at the moment.

Was dead on the drive, AA reported no communication from a module, but of Skoda had to start from scratch....

Currently had a fuel pump, start stop button, now some chafed wiring and plugs on the Steering column module and awaiting approval for them to order the module from Skoda. Good thing its a warranty repair.

Certainly not holding much hope out on the fact yours was a loose wire somewhere.
