1.3 mpi bike throttle bodies

Featured Replies

Thinking off picking up some Gsxr or cbr throttle bodies to ******ise onto my 1.3mpi, anyone have any kind of info on this?

Aside from making them fit mechanically, what would be involved on the wiring side of things? Assuming I could get it wired and any sensors work will the ecu  be able to cope with tb's?

This sounds like the sort of job you need an Emerald or Megasquirt EMS for. Both probably already offer OOB maps for common tunes.

No chance of just plumbing the map sensor in and it running?

FFS!!! You're changing from a single throttle body to 4 separate ones.

 Only one question Why ?

Yup, if the map sensor is plumbed into the vacuum on each tract, as opposed to stock where it would be one vacuum line on the inlet plenum? It should work the same, im more so wondering if the ecu has the capacity to adjust its own fuel mapping enough to keep up with any extra power, or is tuning the 1.3 a fruitless task.

Gsxr Tb's are cheap enough, and I can fabricate an inlet manifold myself, so, genuine question, why not?

@mikefelicia - Same reason some people used to run 2 40DCOEs on a 1.3 8 port back in day. Better carburation and throttle response, and power to about 120bhp road drivable (160 with a race cam and a power band from about 4_500 to 7_000).

@Eggwarrior - The idea is fine, but the standard ECU is designed to control a monopoint injector firing twice per engine rev, rather than 4 port injectors firing once each every other rev. The standard injector controls have to be replaced even if you keep the standard ECU for ignition control.
