Kodiaq vRS

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Some people may think this is some sleazy sales tactic, but I am genuinely curious as an individual who likes cars - would anyone actually consider one for the price tag its asking for? The Sportline is expensive at 37k OTR but 43k OTR is a lot in my eyes.

What does everyone think?

?

What lease deals are there on them in the UK?

When will they be available for hand over to anyone ordering one, or two or more?

Never mind the RRP feel the width of the tyres!

As Kenny R has pointed out there is already a fair bit of discussion on the vRS pricing in the thread above.

Personally if that was my budget I wouldn't be spending it on a Kodiaq.

I am genuinely interested to see what people end up paying for them.

There are plenty in the UK now...

You have to really love the Kodiaq to pay this...

Have to say, dont like it, and as with other brands, prices just keep going up !!

They would have been better devloping a Fabia 3 vRS "imo"....

If it wasn’t for the hideous wheels, I’d be right in there  . . . . . . . . . . .  . .

not!

Almost £500 per month annualised.

Just too much for what it doesn’t give you over a much, much cheaper version.

If I was going to push above the 40k tax bracket I'd be looking to jump into a nearly new premium vehicle. Something that I did consider. For the price of the Kodiaq VRS I'd be looking at a 2018 BMW X5 M 4.0D 7 seater with 10k on the clock at around £41500. Personal opinion I appreciate.

So many things wrong with this vehicle so here goes.

Depreciation loses £27,000 over 4 years, my Vrs245 was £28,100 new in 2017.

Road tax is £450 for the first 5 years, my Vrs was £160 first year followed by £140 per year thereafter.

The ride with on the firm side (20"alloys) and don't like the design of the wheels. Indeed already sold my 19" Extremes because didn't like them.

Economy will struggle to top 40mpg with only 237bhp. My Vrs averages 41mpg despite having 336bhp.

Don't need 7 seats, 5 are plenty for me and my 590 litre is enough for my needs.

Don't like DSG gearboxes and no manual alternative choice.

Offering a 5 seater with manual gearbox would reduce the price by at least £2,350.:x

LOL,  Predicted Depreciation in 4 years since that can be all it is.

Something Lease / Finance Companies have to show as future values.

My guess is that in 2022 it will be possible to buy one with cash money for a bag of lucky beans and £15,000 of your British Pound Notes or will that be British Euro Notes.

240ps Bi-turbo Diesels as popular as farts in space suits, or 2019 Kodiak Diesels in Low Emission Zones or City / Town Centres.

Just saw one in my local dealer - certainly an eyeful, but as stated above - who is this car aimed at?

Those spending >£40k will surely be looking elsewhere (? towards second-hand BMW / Range Rover etc), or possibly new Evoque etc.

I do like the colour though!

Aimed at Sales Executives in Main Dealerships as a sit about in a Showroom or on a forecourt and if no takers in the First 3 months with ones not First Registered then get them Registered and shifted.

The ones being used by 'Skoda / Dealers' get their break from HMRC and then the Dealership gets as much profit as possible how ever they do the deal.

300 to the UK and it has done it's job, it got Magazine & Social Media space and catches the eyes of people that might usually ignore a Skoda Dealership.

Makes a Brand New Kia Stinger GTS look good value to open an old can of worms.:x

Time will tell if the depreciation is anything like that of the Stinger GT-S were, or the discs have as bad cosmetic corrosion as the KIA's.

What the 240ps Bi-Turbo offering from Skoda shows is that maybe better check out 'nearly new' VW models with that engine.

The 237bhp Passat Estate makes more sense particularly low mileage nearly new.

Any car or estate can make sense to those that do not want or need easy in and easy out and a higher seating position.

As do Manuals to those wanting 3 pedals in the foot well.

Horses for courses, or towing horse boxes even!

Maybe not many Kodiaq vRS will be towing horse boxes or generators etc, well not on OEM Wheels / Tyres.

Don't want those 20" alloys developing a bad case of gravel rash, god forbid wading through a pebble strewn stream/river.B)

Or Touch Parking!

All that mattered was they looked good to some in Media Photo Shoots & Reviews.

Don't forget bragging rights of fastest 7 seater hurled around the Nurburgring by the fearless Miss Schmidt at the wheel. Good publicity stunt.:o

Great then for someone that brags about their 300+ Remapped 2.0TSI Airport Taxi Transfer sized estate car.

Wouldn't mind her driving my Octy round the Ring as fast as it will go. Might feel a bit queasy after nearly 21km. Should be able to go sub 8 minutes with her at the helm.:envy:

I think the Audi is best value choice of the above and decent performance/economy.:inlove:

I think I understand why so many of my compatriots are buying one way tickets to the UK and driving back with second hand diesels.

  • 1 year later...

I have just purchased a Skoda Kodiaq VRS, for me simply it was the spec for the money. I used CarWow and specced up a VRS with full surround cameras, full lane assist blindspot detection, Panoramic roof, Canton sound system, heated steering wheel etc and this ended up being around £42k which was cheaper than OTR with no options. For the money I couldn't fault it, again I do high mileage so only put down £2k and put it on an 18k. Business mileage will pretty much cover the car payments anyway. Great car and good torque.

Surely it’s worthless comparing a new car to used?
