Your dealer seems to display the same competences as ours did, and that means the outcome can go two ways. It can work for or against you.   For the test, the dipstick and cap need to be sea

Danny, I've been following your travails within the mk2 vrs owners facebook page and saw the video appear with the flashing gear number. You've been unfortunate enough to have bought a real pig in the

  • If your plugs are fubar'd then that could explain the rubbish MPG......this I would advise is sorted first.   If you dont know if the filter has been changed, then do that to.

Be sure you get the Written Report which needs to have the weight of oil drained from the car and then refilled before the test and the miles covered and the weight of it when drained now.

Bloody heck

was told on the phone 90 minute wait

now im being told 3 hours!!

3 hours to drop some oil and weigh it i was amazed at 90 mins never mind double that!! what a ridiculous figure i can safely say i can drop oil and weigh it in around 30minutes if not less a lot less!

I did a little dip test yesterday cold it was at the very top of cross hatch area  and the oil is 3 quarters nearly half way into the cross hatch with zumzubo test

im guessing its the scirroco squirter fix for me.

Hopefully because i have the car in finance well a quarter of the cost anyway i have a claim ?

I can even take it to consumer rights act and involve the garage which sold me this  faulty vehicle

and maybe get re imbursed for the 2 litres of oul and spark plugs iv added to try and rectify this awful fault!

Cant even get my surname right 4 times i have corrected them sorry if im droaning on but i have got 3 hours to kill lol

Your Oil use sounds OK to me if the correct quantity was in at the start of the test and that is after 500 miles or so of short cold start trips.

@Skoffski aye im hoping so bud

cost me another £140 today though didnt get my 1 litre of oil they owed me also the manager wouldnt tive me the results of test ie the weights before and after he stated its on the system and he cannot give it to me. then said come back after 300km i said WHAT. Iv already done 400miles.

So he goes into the back and comes back out and says the results go to skoda uk and then they will contact me regarding fixes etc etc

i have attacthed the invoice

I also have a recording @Skoffski if i can foreard it to you via email? And of ou would kindly have a listen to the  conversation.

I will put on my PM's later and send you an Email address later, travelling today and on a phone.

No idea what i am looking at there sorry.

Did they say how much oil it used?   Weights being the important bit.

  • Author

@Skoffski no mate i asked and he declined to forward them to me

Sorry what are you paying for them doing then other than new oil and oil drained and oil drained again?

You are a customer they were doing the report for you.

  • Author

@Skoffski

so this is how it take it

i went in on the 23rd had oil dropped and new oil put in (ultimate) oil i think

gone back today they have dropped the oil done measurements and put new oil back in (helix) which is different to the oil used in the first part of the test and now sent off figures to skoda uk

now to wait for skoda to contact me

basically paid for labour which i understand

OK.

But still your report while you paid for it.

Not theirs, not some Data Protected.

Not done right anyway without a new Oil Filter.

If they refund you your money it is still your report on your car.

@Skoffski i asked for it but had no joy the convo expalins all m8

Just listened. They or he ripped you right off.  You do not pay for their time doing a free health check and dropping the charge down to an hour is taking the pith on a 30 minutes worth of labour.  The oil should have been reused as they never changed the filter anyway.  I would be at trading standards.  SKODA UK need to investigate them.

@Skoffski yeah i will be taking it further all i want is my results of the test so i can drive my car without worrying, soon as i hear back regarxing the test i shall be seeking some sort of money back via skoda UK do you have a relevant number i can call or is it just the main one off google ?

Cheers george

Once a call handler gets you a communications manager all needs to be in writing from them, believe little they say,

then the stuff from a resolutions manager referring to a technical manager needs to be all in writing.

Obviously none have ever heard of the issues before and will put it all back on a Dealership.

http://skoda.co.uk/about-us/contact-us

Good Luck.

As to the Dealership and taking a simple customers request for an 'Official Oil Consumption test' and an Employee stringing that out and charging what the have,

they should be ashamed.

Please get that in writing to the Dealer Principal and the Dealership Owner / CEO.  But then they already know. That is how they roll.

@Skoffski i have written this please feel free to add any bits and bobs to it as i have no idea what im doing i apprecite your time and help a lot...

So on the 27th of February i went to skoda (stockport) for an oil consumption test,

I left my car at skoda in the morning, i collected my vehicle at 5pm.

Upon collecting my car i was charged £116.10 they also charged me £19.98 (which is included in final price of £116.10) for 5 litres of oil but only used 3.6 litres i am still owed 1.4lts of oil.

They also did not change the oil filter and also did not seal the oil filler cap nor the dipstick (which i believe is part of the test if done properly).

I would also like to point out that my car had a free wash & valet which i never asked for which is good BUT i had around £2-£3 down the side of the seat i always keep it there just in case.... this was removed from my car which is Theft!

So i was advised to drive 300km and book my car in for the weighing and measuring the oil used, which i did and got booked in for the 19th of march.

I took my car back to skoda on the 19th of march, where i was told the oil consumption is going to take 3 hours!

So i had waited 2.5 hours at skoda when originally i was told 1 hour which in my opinion is a very long time to drop and weigh some oil and put back in the vehicle.

They did not put the oil back in the car (the oil had only done 400 miles) but again charged me for oil this time £28 for 4 litres of oil??? Which is £10 more than the initial oil added in the first test?

I was also charged again for labour the labour this time was £89 for 1 hour but the previous 1 hour labour charge was £74? Something does not add up here?

I was then charged £140.40 and given NO results now i have paid for those results and did not receive them? No weights no nothing!! I was actually told to come back in another 300km  in which case i turned around and its already done 300km etc etc to cut a long story short he said they will contact me regarding the results,

Its been one week tomorrow (27th march)

So in total my oil consumption test was

£246.60

Which i will be claiming all or part back due to negligence and if i do not receive all or part refund i will be heading over to trading standards.

Regards

They are taking money by false pretences..  Theft and taking the pith.

@Skoffski arent they just..

there ignorance will do well in my favour in court anyway.

This is why i have never used a main dealer for work extremly untrustworthy imo

@GT0161

Is it the company that did the 'Service Campaign work shown on the Stickers in the boot?

OK.

I will remove that..... Sorry.

PS

I doubt you would have been better there.

???

Why is there no Oil Consumption Results / Report, which is what they were doing and overcharging you for?

Have you asked the Dealership Dealer Principal in writing for it,

or your full refund?
