Your dealer seems to display the same competences as ours did, and that means the outcome can go two ways. It can work for or against you.   For the test, the dipstick and cap need to be sea

It can go off to Skoda on your behalf, but Skoda did not pay you did.

You commissioned it and it is your vehicle.

Ask Skoda UK Customer Services tomorrow to have a Communications Manager get back to you.

They can confirm when they received the Oil Consumption Test, if they have.

They can also talk with the Principal Dealer at that Lookers Dealership and see what they think they are playing at.

Taking money under false pretences.

Just rang skoda spoke the manager who served and charged me twice

hes going to look into it.

I have told him the next time i phone will be to speak with the principle.

After that im taking up a level to skoda uk

i asked for my technicians report he said he cannot give it me as its on the HUB (skoda system)

What a load of guff about the report which was done for you. Paid for by you.

They just need to give you the weights the technician wrote down as they were weighed.

Hi folks jiat a little update and much later

5 weeks have passed i attended skoda stockport to speak with with the service manager basically told me he is still waiting for the results

8 weeks have now passed and after contacting skoda and asking for the principle to be involved after still no results!

9 weeks i have since received a call off the service manager asking me to get booked in for another consumption test free of charge and free car hire?

I have owned this car since January and i have used 8 litres if not more maybe 10-11 of oil in 3400miles

And finally today the dreaded flashing gear numbers upon the dash and clutch slip i literally have lost!

£3000plus to repair

I have this letter drafted

18/05/2019

Dear Sir or Madam,

REFERENCE: M***n/We*****e motor company-Skoda fabia vrs 2011 **11***

I purchased the Skoda fabia vrs 2011 mw11*** from We****e motor company. At the point of purchase I paid £6321.

The Skoda fabia vrs 2011 mw11*** is unfit for purpose. I first noticed in February that my car was using a lot of oil, Since purchasing the car i have had top it up with a total of 8 litres of oil in 3000 miles which is cause for concern. And now driving home last night 17/07/19 the mechatronic gearbox failed wouldn’t drive normal which would suggests a fault in the gearbox the gearbox itself is a sealed lifetime unit. This fault unfortunately resulted in having to leave my car at the roadside to not cause more damage. It has now been towed to a friends home address..

The makes it an implied term of the contract I have with ****** motor company that goods be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.

As you are in breach of contract and and I've owned the product for less than 6 years I am within my statutory rights to ask for it to be replaced at no further cost to me.

I await confirmation that you will provide the remedy set out above within 14 days of the date of this letter.

Yours faithfully,

Daniel ******

I cannot be sure 2014? Possibly i think

Is the Sticker in the boot with the date still showing?

Then Skoda UK should know, they paid to have it done, and need to remember why they had to pay for it, because the DVSA (VOSA then) let them do a Voluntary Service Campaign / Recall Action because of issues with DQ200 DSGs.

Danny, I've been following your travails within the mk2 vrs owners facebook page and saw the video appear with the flashing gear number. You've been unfortunate enough to have bought a real pig in the poke, that would take almost the value of the car to put right.

I wish you well in trying to get this resolved satisfactorily, you've had a terrible ownership experience.

Ref: (nature of your complaint/reference number)

I am writing with regard to the above complaint. I wrote to you on (date) and (date) asking you to do (describe the action you asked them to take) to resolve this complaint.

However, your attempts to resolve the problem have not been satisfactory and you claim that there is nothing more you can do to help me.

I feel that we have reached a deadlock situation and, therefore, I am left with no alternative but to take my complaint to the (name of) ombudsman.

Please issue me with a letter of deadlock so that I may refer this matter to the (name of) ombudsman.

If I do not hear from you within 14 days I shall assume that you are in agreement that this case has reached deadlock and I shall refer my complaint about you to the ombudsman without further reference to you.

The sticker is present but no date. Do you know why or how my dsg has failed? As i beleive its common issue

ao not only does my car burn oil the dsg box is knackered too

So,

skoda said my car is fine to drive i suspect the clutch is on its way out

the car when driven slowly is fine

apart from the clunky box and lag on gear changes,

The car has been into skoda Stockport today (23rd/5/19) for a oil consumption test,  free of charge???
Due to me still not getting the results from the first consumption test which i was charged twice for and oil i did not need.

I have been told to cover 300miles AGAIN and report back to skoda for the second part of the consumption tests,
But now i have  dsg issues so the 300miles isn't  going to be easy

I first noticed my car () was using oil at the beginning of march i then kept an eye on it resulting in topping it up with 2 litres initially then over the next month a weekly check i have over the course topped up the car and up to date used just over 7 litres i have covered just over 3000 miles.

Skoda (stockport) believe the issue with the car is the clutch,

I have been advised on a social  media  page it is the clutch and fork selectors.

Skoda Advised me its ok to drive and if any engine lights pop up call them.
Today (23rd may) the same day i have left skoda on my journey home from my parents the EML light has activated and again would not select the correct gear, leaving me stuck at the traffic lights.

I have turned the engine off and re started the engine set off as normal all is fine i set off i lunges from 1st 2nd gear then jumps to 4th gear then the gear number in the dash starts flashing, leaving me to pull over and and go through the process of stop starting my car,

Upon starting my car the next day it was rough and felt lik a misfire, but the engine management light has gone off.

I have plugged in carista and found these fault codes. But cannot find anything online ???

Has anybody had these codes before

thanks

It is not safe to drive.   Dangerous for you and other road users and whoever said it was safe is a d1ck-head.

So who at Skoda said it was safe or was this someone at the Dealership SKODA STOCKPORT?

As to clutch & fork selector, did they know it is a DSG you have?

A member on favebook said it was the clutch and selector @skoffski the service manager at skoda said it was fine i have been dealing with him directly.

Ask on Monday or Tuesday if the Service Manager is a Qualified VW Group Technician or something else.

Any Motor Engineering training or qualifications of any kind.

Danny,

From personal experience your car in current condition is unsafe to drive. Last year our mechatronic unit and clutches needed replacing, we had the flashing white spanner in the PRNDS area of the dash and the car initially would select gears and go along the road as normal. But as the loss of internal pressure within the DSG got worse, then the ability for the unit to select gears became increasingly difficult culminating in sudden loss of gear and momentum.

That is what makes it unsafe, and it mirrors what happened to another owner on here when their car lost all momentum on a fast moving A road. You cannot have a situation where your car can suddenly lose all power and still be considered safe for either you or other road users.

Also, your advice from the dealership in Stockport mirrors the advice I was incorrectly given by 2 Skoda dealers up here. Both said the flashing spanner was to do with an Inspection service and that the car was ok to drive. They were wrong, and it wasn't safe to drive.

I'll explain what happened to us. We set off for Ayr from Lesmahagow, a distance of around 45 miles or so, which we would have intended doing using the A70, a fast moving rural single carriageway road. We travelled 6 miles with the gear selector indicator doing what it should be doing, when we came off a roundabout at Douglas road end where it meets with traffic coming off M74 we turned to go steeply uphill towards the village of Douglas, as I accelerated the flashing spanner appeared and the car failed to change gear, worse still it went from D3 to Neutral, no gear and became a sitting duck. I was able to wait 10 minutes then restart and nurse the car home, which took almost an hour as it kept doing the same thing.

Both main dealers said they hadn't heard of this before. Skoda UK also denied knowledge of such a problem, despite evidence on here in itself proving otherwise with countless owners having had to share their sorry tale of how they had been lied to in order that Skoda UK maintain their semblance of innocence and so called good name.

Offski will keep you right, I will do my best to help as well.

Skoda Stockport are a franchised dealer, they in themselves are not Skoda UK. Judging by the responses you are getting from Skoda Stockport and the manner in which you've been treated, they are either attempting to **** down your leg and tell you it's raining or are simply incompetent. Neither is good for you.

At the very least, and only in relation to the oil consumption aspect, your latest oil consumption test ought to be free of charge and in my opinion you should be refunded for the previous tests due to the level of incompetence displayed by a main dealer.

In terms of the DSG problem and the response from the Skoda Stockport team, they have knowingly endangered you and others by advising the car can be driven normally when it patently cannot. That advise is borderline negligent and reckless.

Your fight must now involve Skoda UK and relevant motoring bodies including the ombudsman, who on occasion are as much use as a chocolate fireguard. Also involve Citizens Advice to know and understand your rights, and to maybe have someone take on a fight on your behalf.

Skoda UK must be made aware at the highest level that their product, a 2011 mk2 Fabia vRS has once again come to their attention as having serious mechanical and engineering defects that are destroying an ownership experience and potentially (with the DSG) endangering the owner. They must step in and have a word with the dealer, the dealer cannot be allowed to continue to provide incorrect advice or knowingly mislead a customer. If they are happy for their brand to continue to be associated with this level of service then it speaks volumes.

It's only my opinion, but the way you have been treated so far is appalling and in itself should be raising alarm bells at Skoda UK Executive Office level. It is a disgrace.

From personal experience it's tough to get any form of goodwill from Skoda UK but its their poor quality design, manufacture and components used that are causing the problem, not you as the owner.

Sorry for the rant, but it is hard to accept that VAG are still getting away with treating customers like dog poo.

I have received an email from the service manager saying he can apply basic settings to my gearbox or something but said it may go into limp mode or something along those lines

“ Hi Dan,

We can perform the Basic Settings on the car if you want.

Regards
David “
