any help would be appreciated

thanks

You can save yourself £45 and find those maps online for free, burn them to a DL DVD and install yourself.

Hi Rustynuts

thanks for the reply, is it easy enough to do

Yes as long as you're competent with a computer, burning discs, and using Google.

Or you use the SD card method.

I find this easier and more straight forward than the DL DVD burning way.

Download the Maps Tools program, download the latest or desired version of the maps, install the maps tolls and burn the relevant software onto an SD card and a normal DVD or even CD.

When I was using the DL DVD burning method the units often disliked many DVDs which subsequently went into the bin.

Maps Tools usually works straight away.

The maps are in the forum.

This is one of the sites where you can download maps from: https://www.gpspower.net/

Problem there is, using the SD card method you're entering into the software update territory which can open a whole new can of worms when it goes wrong.

I don't know if I would be brave enough to do this from scratch, something is bound to go wrong !

just reading some posts on the forum, is it possible to upgrade the Columbus to DAB ?

No, not without changing components inside the unit, reloading software etc.
