Question to fellow Furby vRS owners

Featured Replies

Hi chaps,

I have been browsing the Briskoda forums for a few months, and noticed most people that post with problems have a sig full of modifications made to their vRS.

So my question is, is there anyone who has had problems with their vRS who hasn't made any mods to their car?

We get standard cars in with issues all the time.

But speaking percentage wise they are very small.

I have done 19K in mine now and it was modded a fw days after rolling off the forecourt, it's just 1 year old now and have had no problems apart from glitch with my remap that was sorted by Celtic FOC.

I am not sure if I have lower expectations than some, or just have a "good" un, but I have got no seat fraying, no annoying rattles, no squeaking seat base, in fact I keep trying to talk myself into an Octy2 vRS (especially with ex demo's now at under 16k with all the toys on) but can't fault the fabia.

that said, you watch the little bugger blow up tomorrow!

Gear lever rattle & anti roll bar bushes have been the only problems with mine.

My first one had remap, did >58k in 20 months - and the only problem was remap (and driver) induced, some clutch slip with the extra torque at low rpm.

mine is standard, has had

a new turbo after about 7 trips to the dealer to get it replaced (was broke from the day i had it second hand)

the mirror adjustment switch just stopped lighting up or working,

the brakelight in the centre was faulty causeing the most annoying beeping noise every time i braked for more than 3 secongs,

the back door wouldnt shut flush but does now

and the turbo pipe valve thingymejig flew off in mid drive causing me to loose half of my valued day off work and an AA trip from halesowen to leicester plus waiting for the next day to come so i could go to dealer and get it sorted

but apart from all that it has been fine, still love it and have just fitted my first and probably only exterior modd, a seat splitter, ok so i ent quite got the middle bit sorted but will do ok

You will find that people will post a lot about their problems and issues as thats one of the functions of the forum.

If you work at a garage you are going to see a lot of broken cars.... ;)

Warrenty work carried out on my car would still have been done if the car was standard or modified.

Recall for fuel pump, new radio, rear sturts and new passenger side seat bolster.

None of which would be effected by any engine mods.

Just had a stipped brake pad, nothing else in 9 months of ownership (apart from accident damage when i stupidly drove into a wall!). Well chuffed with it so far!

a few niggles on mine nothing more.

radiator pump needed replacing under warranty, usual recall work and the usual things like reversing into a wall, car falling down the drive in the ice, stone chip hitting the side and dinting it, hitting thumper, quite literally a man in a rabbit suit, it "was" huge . i could probably think of a lot more, but then i am a natural complainer :finger: :P

No problems to speak off here, one plastic insert of driver door came out twice and was then refitted properly.

Apart from the fuel cap cable undoing itself once (sorted quickly, probably caused by fitting soundproofing material) and a front wheel bearing went after 34k miles. Replaced under warranty.

That's about it though :D

total 100% standard car:

rear wheel bearing (NS) needed replacing after 12k miles....

i got a few rattles (the VRS rattles alot more than the 1.4 Classic)

hitting thumper, quite literally a man in a rabbit suit, it "was" huge

How the heck did you manage that?

doing 60 round a sweeping bend at night (major a road), wasn't paying much attention!

Had to pick the NSF fog light cover out of the poor HUGE bugger I hit it that hard

Thanks for your responses everyone, i have just bought a new vRS and was interested to see if more or less people had had engine based problems after making mods like the one click jobby i keep hearing about...

Don't think ill be doing anything within the year, but im keepin my options open and just trying to find out if it has caused any problems to peoples cars.

I expect the odd complaint, am just hoping nothing blows up :D

Just washed her too, looked spectacular - until it rained
