Video play files on Amundsen

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

After a lot of time spend asking for support to dealer, factory (tech support) and numerous hours on YouTube checking all possibilities to play video files on Amundsen...I succeeded!!!!

My case: Android 6.o with MirrorLink and a floating software made in Checz R or Slovacia and LG Mirror Drive (free).

Please add details here for all to see.

With mirrorlink it is possible, still you have to switch off mirrorlink in motion with coding. Directly from sd or usb, admundsen or bolero doesn't support video files. Huawei phones are poor in mirrorlink, HTC works.

Details:

You have to add LG Mirror Drive app (and block notification from this app in settings

And it works without decoding the car (in motion).

Adding clarifications.

That just looks like a recipe for an almighty smash. There’s no way you could possibly control that when on the move.

And as for watching videos whilst driving...

This is done by LG Mirror Drive app. The message with no working in motion apearce but you click the OK button, and the app is diverting to the floating app menu or to the menu of the phone.

Ah, there's nothing quite like a logical answer to a question.

And to be fair, that's nothing like a logical answer.

Which phone brand do you use and which version of LG mirror app?

Samsung Galaxy S5 and alternatively Note 4.

Depending on the phone Google AppStore is showing the right version for your phone.

This floating I didn't see, it just turns off video and audio still playing until car stops and then video continues playing.

How did you do that?

And does it work for Samsung?

I managed to get floating apps work, but full mirrorlink would be super.

Try to find on internet app: LG mirrordrive, version 1.2.1.2 and install, ignore message that app works only with LG phones and it should work with Samsung also. I use HTC M9:

You don't need other apps.

Just remember to deactivate notifications on LG Mirror Drive (in order not to cut data in motion).

Through Floating App you can access the internet on your car display...

And that's it...

For some phones it is possible full mirror of the mobile...

I own OBD11, but I haven`t seen any mirrorlink activation option in there.

Anyway, LG Mirror won`t work on Samsung. Only LG, Sony and HTC are able to run this app.

Will continue using Floating apps.

No, that`s not it. You can also play video files from phone / tablet internal memory. Also play Youtube.

But no problem with me. WRC site runs. Local news site runs. I am (almost) happy.

I can't confirm this, never tried with Samsung, my Huawei P20lite doesn't support mirrorlink at all.

HTC has built in car app "CAR" that also works perfect, not full mirror but through this app it is possible to have any app opened on car display.
