Extra back seats ,3rd row

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if and where i can order and install the 3rd row of seats

Welcome.

Sorry no idea where you can order seats and seatbelts, have you tried Skoda, ebay etc?

Best check the situation in Greece that the cars Registration is as a 5 seater, Type Approval etc.

Maybe not an issue with the authorities or your insurers, or maybe an Inspection will be required.

I'm no expert, but I don't believe you'll be able to install the extra seats on one that was made for 5 without some fairly serious alterations, because it's not just screwing in the seat the headlining, boot, seatbelts, 2nd row seats, etc are all different too?

Now i am busy with checking how to install 3rd row of seats and this is what you need(not final):

1) 3rd row of seats :)

2) holders for seats: 1 in the middle, 2 in front(left and right) and 2 in the back

3) seatbelts with interior trims

4) floor for trunk, holder for floor, something for wheel

Welcome,

remember about checking with your insurer that they are OK with a vehicle registered as a 5 seater being converted to a 7 seater.

3rd row seats are monitored for seatbelts and occupancy too so there must be some wiring involved too.

The boot wall lining is different too, with sort-of cupholders.

That's correct, there is wiring for seatbelts, but i think it will be problematic to connect it because you need to find somewhere proper wiring as well as boot lining. If someone needs - i can share some photos and more info for 3rd row of seats, i am planning to get it and install.

Please post... because i am planning to uninstall so as to gain boot space..

Also my dealer said there was no wiring to the seats... and the online manual does not show any... in the section that  shows removing these seats.

There is. Photo In addition to that, you need another floor and underfloor insert.

Surely it would be more cost effective to trade your 5 seat kodiaq in for a 7 seat version. New list price is about £1000 difference, between 5 seat and 7 seat versions (used will likely be a similar margin), 5 seat version can only be had on the SE now in the UK... Who will be using the 3rd row of seats?

Never trust a dealer.

The reason the workshop manual does not reference the wiring is because it doesn't go as far as to explaining the removal of the seat retainers (5). The wiring is attached to the seat belt buckle, which in turn is fixed to the seat retainer so it is assumed these components will remain in situ when removing the seats.

All it says is that "if" the seat retainers are removed they must be tightened up to the predetermined torque settings.

If I were contemplating this conversion I would be going to a car breakers yard to check interior seating match yours and state you will require every nut, bolt and washer relating to the parts you are buying. A 'package deal' from the one donor vehicle would be the most economical  way to go about the conversion. I would even go as far as to ask if there was a possibility you could assist in the removal of required parts as this would be of great benefit when fitting to your own car.
