Boot not closing fully - quick fix?

Featured Replies

Just picked up my 19 reg Octavia hatch this morning. Haven't had much time to check everything and play with the new features as I was solo parenting this weekend. But one thing i did notice was that the boot would not close fully, with the usual effort that would have closed it in my 16 Octavia. You really have to slam it to get it closed fully. I'm hoping this just needs the catch/striker to be adjusted and wondering if I could do this myself easily, rather than the hassle of taking a half day to bring it back to the dealer. Any suggestions?

It's new - I'd give a few weeks to bed in.

It also may be a bit "tighter" as part of the mods to cure the drumming issue that some earlier cars had.

Mine regularly requires far more of a slam than I'd have thought it should.

I think it might be like that to stop the tailgate latch rattling, it was a problem with early mk3 models
