Fun spare parts availability

Featured Replies

Hi,

I’ve been offered a skoda fun. I’m no mechanic or welder!

The engine seems in good condition, It has some rust on the wings and around the rear suspension struts which I think is common and some of the fibreglass body kit is cracked in places.

Before I commit to having it I wanted to check how easy it is to get spares for the Fun?

if the rear suspension strut mounts need replacing can you buy them or would they need to be custom made etc?

Are there any other Skoda cars that use the same parts?

I really want to take the project on but as I’m no mechanic, Am I in for a long hard expensive  experience owning a Fun!!?

Thanks

A

Well, it's based on Felicia Pickup (in UK sold as Caddy pickup), so from B-pillar to back it's different car to passenger Felicias. All rear body panels are rare and hard to get. Rear beam and dampers are different, but mechanical parts should be same. Front part is identical to other Felicias, there are just some minor differences in suspension settings (22mm ARB for example).

I need a drive shaft, rear suspension and gear selector  linkage.

Where do people get most of their parts from.

I have seen a website called Autodoc but read some bad reviews.

Anyone got a reliable supplier for parts?

Thanks.
