How remove door card?

Featured Replies

Anyone know how to do this? I can see the plastic screw at the bottom of the door that needs to be turned 90 degrees.  I removed the window switch expecting to see some screw in there but there is nothing visible. I also can't see any access around the door handle that might reveal a screw.

Totally stumped.

Hi,

Which door are you talking about ? Driver one?

Here is a screenshot from an online ETKA:

Parts 22 to 29 are screws or clips, except 26, which is a rivet

Hope this helps.

Hey Martin, that is awesome, certainly a lot clearer. Many thanks. Do you have the passenger door? Only reason I ask is on that side with the switch removed I couldn't see the main screw 9 that appears on the driver side.

Sorry Steviedakota but this is all there is for front panels.

The screw you can reach without removing the controls. Its bellow handle bar inside (you need to reach with decently long screwdriver. The screw is black so decent light will make it easier to find =)

Also when removing panels, I would be very careful about the metal clip (top right) because after removing panel on my car it got "losen" and it started to vibrate and create very annoying noises. On passenger side as well. I solved the issue by adding anti-vibration material between metal plate (doors) and the clip/holding thing. Now its fine, but I just wonder for how long... The way they did this thing on Superb is super annoying. I had it fixed twice under warranty before I started doing sound deadening. Its held in by the "aluminium" thing that's usually used on speakers for cars and has to be drilled out to be replaced.

Metal clip as in the crash clip in the above illustration? Is that some kind of rivet?

8 - 4 and A on pic "no. 4" is the clip. Just try not to move door panel any other direction than UP when removing it and as close to doors as possible. When you pull out clips try not to pull panel too much away from door, just enough to unclip clips. Otherwise aluminium will losen and noises will come.

Thanks guys.  Very helpful, a bit apprehensive about this so may bring it to someone to have them removed.

I was just looking at this again so I can get in and do some noise control.

What has me stumped is unclipping the window controls in direction C.

If anyone has done this here, can you walk me through it?

EDIT: I just noticed Steviedakota's image at the top of this thread. The clip is central in the angled portion. At least I know where to prod/lever from.

Hello @digifishI need to loosen the door card to get the wing mirror off to repair.  Do you remember what sort of screw it is holding the door card on in the middle?  Looks like a Hex, but wondering whether it might be a torx - do you remember or know where I can find out?  Difficult to get ay decent light on it.

Thanks for the video, it definitely helps!

I am going to answer myself in case anyone else wants to know, it was a T30.  I am working off a high kerb on the pavement, so really hard to see anything!

Yeah just saw this, indeed Torx. Most things are T25 and T30 on the Skoda.
