I've been getting audio prompts of cameras when using Google Maps {tm} satnav for some months now?

Haven't you noticed that they're not all there yet though? Hopefully GM will migrate the Waze info across to make it complete.

To be honest, no.  I tend to drive first on what I can see, feel and hear (you know, good old fashioned "seat of the pants" :) ) and secondly on what the toys tell me so when there's a discrepancy between real life and Doris (the Google Maps {tm} satnav voice) I pay attention in the moment in case a response is needed but then tend to let it go.

Sure, but if Sonja doesn't say "greed scamera ahead" that doesn't mean that there isn't a greed scamera that you can't see.

But we are all excellent drivers who maintain speeds within the legal limits, only using the "top-end" power and speed on private roads and/or track days, so the greed scameras arent an issue for any Briskodian ;)

Even the people who have nearly 336bhp? ;)

True story went out in the nearly 336bhp Octavia yesterday with a former Traffic Officer and friend and after a little burst in 2nd and 3rd they told me that the Police Vrs are not as fast as my car which is not surprising. They now work in Firearms Forensics.;)

I noticed the cameras in Google Maps navigation the other week.... I tried it on our new Fabia yesterday via CarPlay but they only show on the nav map and there is no audible announcement of the upcoming speed camera. I've had a look in the settings but can't see anything regarding an audible warning for them???

This is with the Google Maps iOS app and the audible direction stuff all works just no warning of the cameras.

Will this make having Google Maps on your phone illegal in France?

Speed Camera warning in France

If like Germany not illegal if disabled in the setting, also applies to factory fitted or any Sat nav device. Includes on the display and audio

I wonder if they'll update with the mobile cameras? The police publish general locations a month in advance.

Doesn't Google work in real time using data ? I tend to use HERE for sat nav ( maps are stored on phone and works off line)and rely on seat of the pants road reading for cameras. For the mobile ones, I've found locally that the scamera organisation are ( IMHO) purposely vague in the locations. I've seen the location given being almost a mile away and the precise location where the "police" vehicle was parked was on the pavement behind a bus shelter ( Panda's are very hard to spot there). If you proceed on the idea that cameras are placed for maximum profit ,not safety, then working out location becomes a matter of ease .
