Wind Deflectors

Featured Replies

I bought mine off a well know auction site just under 30 quid for the heko ones, fitted them 2 days ago

Me too ,same auction site 26 quid heko ones

Wouldn't mind a set of these myself.  Are they easy to fit ?  Are they secure, as in, can they be removed by thieves ?  Do they obstruct the view to the mirrors ?

Do the electric windows still go up & down ok?   I fitted "genuine suzuki" ones years ago to a Vitara but the windows wouldn't go up or down they were so tight in the channels, I ended up being given a refund......

Yes there a very easy fit ,windows work fine and only way they can be stolen is if you leave car with windows partially down .and they dont obstruct mirrors .

I considered putting these on mine but I've heard a few people say they produce an increase in wind noise at motorway speeds. In your experience with these, can you confirm or deny said comments?

No issues with fitting these, very easy for a first timer like me, also no issues with driving at motorway speeds, probably done about 200 miles now and cant hear any difference.  When I first fitted them the windows would not go all the way up, once they were adjusted and i left the windows up overnight I have had no problems since, not used the metal clips they supplied just the adhesive and also put some extra 3m tape on.

Does crap build up on the inside of the deflector over time and do you have to drop windows to clean the inside of them or can you get a sponge between the window and deflector with the window up?

Myself personally i think there is just a very slight increase in wind noise but nothing that bothers you ,as for crap builing up under them no it doesnt but i keep my car spotless so i suppose its up to how often you clean yours

Does anyone know if the wind deflectors would interfere with the fitting of rear car window shades? Thinking of fitting the shades over tinting that’s all

Unless you're putting shades on the outside they'll be fine. Personally I would go with tinting though, I did, less hassle than shades and you can open your windows.

Modified mine slightly.

You're going to have to forgive my ignorance.

With a Marmite look and an increase in wind noise - for what purpose would you actually fit these?

From observation, increased ventilation with smoking inside the car and taxis have them ditto, to cope with smelly, flatulent customers.

Maybe.

I had these on my Vectra, but front windows only. I loved them. I've ordered them today for my Octy, front and rear.

Ah OK - so they are fitted when people want to smoke in the car and/or you want to keep the window open a little bit?

Makes sense I guess, at least I can see why they might be fitted :)

I'll just stick to the zero tolerance on any kind of smoking in my car and the AC!

Another benefit, other than fresh air - at least I found it was in my Vectra - is that if you leave the window open a small crack, it prevents the windscreen fogging.

That's another extra I wanted but missed out on for the Octy - windscreen heater. Could have lived with a dedicated windscreen heater fan instead of the inbuilt heater, but no joy there either.

I use my climate control on automatic. It's only under certain cold and humid conditions I get misting and then need to over ride it for a few minutes. Most of the time it is not a problem.

Wind deflectors say malodorous occupants- to me anyway.🚭

 protein farts are the worst

I have the Heko ones installed on mine they are better but if you are in the region with snow, wind and freeze then tape ones will be a worry
