Karoq 12 UK versions discontinued

Featured Replies

So it's official then, the 1.0 DSG in a Karoq is no more.......it makes the cheapest DSG equipped vehicle almost £1.5k more expensive.

A shame that more buyers weren't attracted to the gutsy little motor.........

I'm one of those with the gutsy little motor, can't fault it at all!

Looking like the 1.5 petrol DSG 4x4 is also discontinued right across the range. I guess I'm fortunate that I for the time for this configuration to be available since launch to order one. If I recall correctly availability would have been for only a few quarters (of a year).

Maybe future allocation has been directed to other countries and may make a return. The crystal ball I was given by a miss Claire Voyant has gone cloudy since she was called away unexpectedly.. Time will tell...

The 1.5 DSG 4x4 came to our listing quite late and lasted only two or three weeks.

But I was ready and am now enjoying it ... 😊

The 1.5 TSI 4x4 DSG has been dropped from the Kodiaq too.

Same as me. A cracking car in this configuration in my humble opinion. The 2.0 would have been my next option but the 1.5 was  much cheaper to insure for me  with arguably little difference in every day use. I waited since the Karoq launch for this model, now I have it on my drive and so far I'm very happy with it.

FFS. Looking to move from my 2012 170 Elegance 4x4 Diesel Yeti to a 1.5TSI 4x4 Edition and this happens.

Damn. Guess I will be looking somewhere else instead.......

If you really want a Karoq I would hang on a little while (taking test drives in other options on your short list of course) as it may be that there is a shortage of Haldex transfer boxes or other 4x4 components around. It seems Skoda are the ones that have to wait against the other makers in the VAG conglomerate only having sufficient stock to cover the 2.0 TSi and Diesel cars at the moment. If like me others were waiting for 1.5 petrol 4x4 cars before a purchase (about a year for me) Skoda may have burned through the inventory of transfer boxes much quicker than anticipated. They could have just increased the lead time of course but Uncle VW may not  have approved it. We do not know.

Of course I may be talking pants as it may be that the 4x4 1.5 sales just didn't make sense anymore. I'm just please I got one during the short window of opportunity. After all we're all different (I'm not*)  are we not.

Either way good luck on your quest to find a replacement for the Yeti, you have the same spec as the one I had back in 2012 in black magic, a terrific car.

Yeti going for a major service and MOT tomorrow so might just extend her time with me. Only done 73000 (just today!) so still plenty of life left in the old dog!

Thanks for your comments - and enjoy Katrina!

Well, Yeti had its service and MOT so all good for another year. Interestingly, spoke with a salesman (as you do) about the availability (or lack of) 1.5TSI 4x4 Edition models and he suggested that it was the first he'd heard of it. Checked online and they were still taking factory orders for this model.

So...... off on our jollies shortly, but when I get back I think I'm going to get an order banged in.

I'm still unsure of the engine. Coming from a big, lumpy diesel and getting around 48mpg on typical runs, I'm intrigued to hear what the 1.5TSI 4x4 DSG delivers. I guess it will be somewhat less but so far I've not really found any concrete evidence to back that up. Aforementioned salesman suggested <30mpg..... 😲. How is Katrina fairing - if you don't mind me asking??

After a few weeks and over 1k miles driving mainly from Chippenham to Bristol and back, A350-M4 (2 junctions) - M32 then through Bristol (work commute) I'm getting around 36mpg  with the AC on in the morning (I'm a morning person targeting being in the office 6:30 to 6:45am to miss rush hour). There is still plenty of traffic and lots of traffic lights in Bristol that have a phase that is baffling. On the way home it's around 33 - 36 mpg due to early rush hour traffic in the car park known as Bristol. On one journey to Coventry on the A429 (single carriage way country road I had a whisker under 40mpg with holiday caravan and camper traffic combined with the inevitable dosy Doris who would drive at a speed 20 miles an hour slower than the speed limit! Start stop traffic jams are not unusual on my commute so I like to make a little progress when I get on the motorways. I have yet to see less than 30mpg on any meaningful journey.

Economy should improve during the winter as air conditioning is less used, the engine loosens up and there will be fewer cyclists restricting progress through the city, this is not a pop at the wobbly wheelers just that the law states that we have to give at least 1.5m space from the bicycle centre line that is fair enough, many of my commute roads this requires crossing the central white line that at times is impossible for articulated lorries to safely pass. Did I mention I'm a morning person?

UPDATED:

To compare with my Yet (called Jana, pronounced Yana)i but with a different commute (Chippenham - Swindon) my average mpg was around the mid 40s but a lot less stop start. In the same drive to Coventry I could hit the 50s,

In a nut shell, my short life so far with Katrina being a petrol DSG 4x4 I'm more than OK with the fuel consumption. My last car being the wonderful 1.2 petrol Fabia SEL (called Frantiska, much lighter and probably more aerodynamic) on the same commute to Bristol and back was in the low 40s with the Coventry run hitting the low 50s on occasion.

If anyone is interested Marshall Skoda at Croydon have a Quartz Grey 1.5 4x4 in stock and ready to go. Speak to Wayne Bunn and it is end of quarter so you might get a very good deal as it is a now discontinued model that he will be happy to shift.
