Economy mode - how to trigger it ?

Featured Replies

It’s the instantaneous fuel consumption screen.

What screen were you on before the word 'Coasting' appeared?

That’s the instant economy view. When you take your foot off the pedal it then comes up on the screen as coasting, rather than on the vw it would say - - in the same place.

i just click mine away as it’s a distraction tbh

as said I'm on economy view but "Eco" is viewable on all screen views I've seen.

I meant which readout, rather than driving mode, but as mentioned above it looks to be instant fuel consumption, the same as on mine when I get "2-cylinder mode" appear.

I didn't mention driving mode in my previous post only which view mode I was on!

Is your kodi a 190tsi?

It's all very confusing.

There is drive mode (eco, comfort, normal, sport and individual), and the dash display i.e. fuel consumption (instant, average), speed, oil temperature etc.

Your use of the word "economy" threw me, especially as that is a drive mode. Probably best to use 'fuel consumption' rather than 'economy view' given the context of this thread 😂

Mine's a 1.4 TSI 150PS.

I did say Economy View, also reffered to as instantaneous fuel consumption /  instant economy view on this page,  Guess me not using the word "instant" has confused you!  my apologies

I've just returned from  200mile each-way trip with fully loaded car and a 3-bike tow bar rack plugged into the tow-bar socket and eco mode always worked fine for me.

Eco drive mode, or coasting?

Your profile says "190" is this the TDI or TSI i.e. petrol or diesel?

It's TDI, Only just noticed it's not on the profile.

ECO Drive mode as selected from the screen or double-press on the button. Coasting was available at all times on the journey.

Another incorrect statement in the current owners manual then :D

Unless the tow bar hasn’t been coded correctly.

@MrTrilby is your tow bar factory fitted or aftermarket?

You mentioned your Kodiaq also coasted in Eco drive mode with something plugged into the electrical socket?

Ours is a factory fitted towbar.

Mine too.
