Hey all, while watching a Chinese review for the facelifted Superb (they have a slightly different Chinese-produced version) and saw a very different climatronic panel compared to what we've been seeing for about 8 years. What are your thoughts? While I think it's just another pointless removal of buttons for touch controls, I like that there's a dedicated Clean Air button (air care).

 

 

It also has Area View, which Skoda has advertised to be available globally to no avail.

I think the climate control looks really really nice, tho my hobby-ocd do not approve of glossy plastic. But I would appreciate a newer more modern looking control panel on my 2019 Kodiaq.

What do you mean to no avail? (I understand the sentence but not the point - apologize my English is not perfect)

No availability/ability, might not be the exact meaning but it’s somewhere along those lines. I can’t find the option for it anywhere.

Edit: Cant find it in the Norwegian pricelist either.

the Chinese build their own Superbs, for their local market only.

 

they don't get the CZ sourced Superbs like the rest of the world.

 

hence they always do their "own thing".  their Superbs have stuff we don't get.

 

they even have Skoda models not seen anywhere else in the world - e.g. Kodiaq GT, essentially a coupe-ish like Kodiaq.

 

I like the climate control panel but that infotainment display looks like something from a bog standard Dacia 🤢
