After many years driving a 2000 (classic shape) Volvo V70 automatic,  I finally got fed up of having to open the petrol filler cap with a clothes-hanger inside the boot, the alarm occasionally going off, and the poor mpg.  I still have the car, SORNed, because  people clearly didn't agree with my price, and because there are few cars that are as smooth, comfortable and spacious.  I bought a 1.2 petrol Octavia estate, 2014.  Generally very nice to drive but I'm not completely in love.  The sound system is pretty tinny - hardly any bottom end even with the bass and mid set to +9 - and the DAB radio cuts out all the time.  Plus despite being bought from a reputable (non-Skoda) dealer fully serviced, after 1500 miles a 'Change engine oil' warning came up.  Also, unlike the Volvo, it is not totally reliable about rolling back on a slight slope, so the hand-brake has to be applied.
