Help fitting new door lock.

Featured Replies

Hello so i suspect my doorlock microswitch broke.

-No Warning sound when keys left in ignition

-No Sound leaving car with headlights on

-No visual of door open in maxidot graphic

-Auto interior lighting stays om All the time.

Can anyone confirm that This is a broken microswitch?

In that case i want to replace the door lock unit, its the left front lock, and my car is left hand driven.

Does the lock need to be specific for a left hand driven car, or is it good as Long as it's a left door lock?? Will IT need Coding or just plug and Play??

Thanks for a very informative forum.

Also there are multiple revisions of the the same lock: for exaple for 5N1837015C, there are also older 5N1837015A and newest 5N1837015E.  There is no difference with them it is the same lock. Most aftermarket locks should tell they are replacement for all 3. Original locks are stupidly expensive though and not really worth that money.

not something I would fit a pattern part to. genuine only for me on critical items you dont want to do again in 12 months, but each to their own.
